Automation Jobs in Tulsa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an automation job in Tulsa?
Focus on Tulsa's energy, aerospace, and manufacturing sectors, which generate the most automation demand locally. The midtown corridor and industrial zones near the Port of Catoosa are where most employers concentrate. Candidates with hands-on PLC programming, SCADA systems, or industrial controls experience stand out in this market. Networking through Tulsa's manufacturing and energy industry events gives an additional edge over purely online applications.
Which companies hire automations in Tulsa?
Companies currently hiring automations in Tulsa include Graymatter, UPS, and Airgas, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tulsa's hiring mix leans toward energy producers, aerospace suppliers, and mid-size industrial manufacturers with facilities in or near the city's port and industrial districts.
Are there remote automation jobs in Tulsa?
Yes, though automation roles are largely hands-on and tied to physical equipment, limiting full remote options compared to desk-based fields. About 67% of automation openings tied to Tulsa are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be in controls engineering design, systems integration oversight, or technical project management rather than floor-level automation roles.
How can I get an automation job in Tulsa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tulsa is through a technician or maintenance associate role at a manufacturing or energy facility, where you work alongside automation engineers and build hands-on controls experience. Tulsa's industrial employers and staffing firms that serve the Port of Catoosa corridor regularly hire for entry-level instrumentation and electrical positions. Completing a certificate program at Tulsa Technology Center in industrial automation or electronics significantly improves your chances with local employers.
Which industries hire the most automations in Tulsa?
Tulsa automation roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026.
