Entry Level Biostatistician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level biostatistician job?
Employers hiring at the entry level prioritize candidates who can demonstrate hands-on statistical work, so your best edge is a portfolio of real analyses, even from coursework or academic research. Proficiency in R or SAS is expected at most positions, and a graduate degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field significantly strengthens your application. Internship experience in a clinical, pharmaceutical, or public health setting also stands out.
Which companies hire entry level biostatisticians?
Companies hiring entry level biostatisticians right now include Medpace, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and University of Southern California, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, you'll find openings across pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, academic medical centers, and government health agencies, many of which actively recruit new graduates into structured analyst or associate biostatistician roles.
Are there remote entry level biostatistician jobs?
Yes, though most entry level roles still favor on-site or hybrid arrangements to support mentorship and team integration. About 25% of entry level biostatistician openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with fully remote positions more common at larger pharmaceutical and biotech employers where distributed teams are already established.
Are these new grad biostatistician jobs?
Yes, the openings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior biostatistician roles. A posting is typically new grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic research in place of full-time work history, or explicitly notes that a strong portfolio of applied statistical work will be considered. Look for titles like associate biostatistician or biostatistician I as clear signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level biostatisticians?
Entry Level biostatistician roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive the strongest entry level demand because they rely on clinical trial data, real-world evidence, and population health analysis, all of which require dedicated statistical support even at the junior level.
