Entry Level Business Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level business analyst job?
Focus on demonstrating analytical thinking through hands-on work: internships, class projects, or self-initiated case studies all count. Employers at this level look for proficiency in Excel or SQL, comfort with data storytelling, and clear communication skills. A concise portfolio showing a real business problem you helped solve gives you a concrete edge over candidates who list coursework alone.
Which companies hire entry level business analysts?
Companies hiring entry level business analysts right now include CVS Health, Capital One, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including large enterprises building out analyst pipelines and mid-size firms where junior analysts take on visible, cross-functional work early.
Are there remote entry level business analyst jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by industry and employer. About 32% of entry level business analyst openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, making this one of the more flexible roles for new professionals. Hybrid arrangements are especially common at larger organizations that value some in-person collaboration for onboarding junior analysts.
Are these new grad business analyst jobs?
Yes. The listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically requires zero to two years of experience and treats internships, academic projects, or a strong analytical portfolio as valid substitutes for a full work history.
Which industries hire the most entry level business analysts?
Entry Level business analyst roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at the junior level because they rely on data-informed decisions across operations, product, and finance functions where analytical support from new graduates adds immediate value.
