Entry Level Business Data Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level business data analyst job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on work with data, even outside a formal job. Build a portfolio using publicly available datasets, show proficiency in SQL and Excel or a visualization tool like Tableau or Power BI, and highlight any internship, capstone project, or academic analysis. A concise resume that leads with practical skills and project outcomes gives entry level candidates a clear edge over a degree alone.
Which companies hire entry level business data analysts?
Companies hiring entry level business data analysts right now include Northrop Grumman, Ralph Lauren, and Capital One, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including large corporations building out analytics teams, mid-size firms adding their first dedicated analysts, and consulting practices that onboard junior talent and train them on client work.
Are there remote entry level business data analyst jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and industry. About 17% of entry level business data analyst openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which gives new graduates flexibility on location. Many fully remote roles at this level still expect candidates to be strong self-starters with clear written communication skills, since less in-person mentorship is built into the role.
Are these new grad business data analyst jobs?
Yes. The listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior business data analyst roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and treats internships, academic projects, or a personal portfolio as qualifying credentials. If a job description lists a degree as the primary requirement without demanding prior professional experience, it is generally open to new grads entering the field for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level business data analysts?
Entry Level business data analyst roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors generate large volumes of operational and customer data that teams need to clean, analyze, and report on, which makes entry level analysts a practical hire for organizations building or expanding their data capabilities without the overhead of senior specialist salaries.
