Entry Level Data Center Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level data center job?
Start by earning a foundational certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or a vendor credential in server hardware or cloud infrastructure. Employers hiring at the entry level look for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on familiarity with physical servers, cabling, or ticketing systems, even through a lab course or internship. A clear record of relevant coursework or a home-lab project can give you a real edge over candidates with no practical exposure.
Which companies hire entry level data centers?
Companies hiring entry level data centers right now include Amazon, Google, and Oracle, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including large cloud and colocation providers, enterprise IT departments, and managed service companies building out operations teams.
Are there remote entry level data center jobs?
Yes, though most data center roles require some on-site presence given the hands-on nature of the work. About 7% of entry level data center openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically in support, monitoring, or coordination functions rather than physical infrastructure roles. Searching by location or work setting on Migrate Mate helps you find what fits your situation.
Are these new grad data center jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles alongside other entry level positions. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, lists internships or coursework as acceptable background, or explicitly calls out recent graduates in the requirements. Look for those signals in the job description before applying.
Which industries hire the most entry level data centers?
Entry Level data center roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate or expand large-scale infrastructure and need technicians, coordinators, and operations associates to support growth without requiring years of prior experience.
