Entry Level Business Intelligence Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level business intelligence job?
Focus on building a portfolio with real data projects: clean a messy dataset, build a dashboard in Tableau or Power BI, or complete a public case study. Employers at this level look for SQL proficiency, familiarity with at least one visualization tool, and evidence you can translate data into a clear business recommendation. Internship experience, bootcamp certificates, and coursework projects all count.
Which companies hire entry level business intelligences?
Companies hiring entry level business intelligences right now include Amazon, Garces, Grabler & LeBrocq, and Capital One, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including large enterprises building out analytics teams, mid-size technology firms, retailers, and financial services companies that rely on data to drive decisions.
Are there remote entry level business intelligence jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are still common at this level. About 29% of entry level business intelligence openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, so there are genuine flexible options available. Remote roles at this stage often require stronger self-direction, since new analysts may receive less day-to-day mentorship than they would in an office setting.
Are these new grad business intelligence jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior business intelligence roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it explicitly welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or academic projects toward requirements, or accepts a portfolio in place of full-time work history. Look for language like "recent graduates encouraged" or "training provided" as strong signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level business intelligences?
Entry Level business intelligence roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and Law & Legal Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors generate large volumes of operational and customer data that organizations need to analyze and visualize regularly, creating consistent demand for junior analysts who can build reports, maintain dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making from day one.
