Entry Level Health Data Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level health data analyst job?
Employers hiring at the entry level typically look for familiarity with SQL, Excel, and at least one visualization tool like Tableau or Power BI, alongside any hands-on experience from internships, coursework, or independent projects. A portfolio showing you can clean a real dataset and turn it into a clear summary gives you a concrete edge over candidates who list only coursework. Targeting healthcare-focused employers, such as hospital systems, insurers, and public health agencies, helps because they often hire analysts who already understand clinical or claims data terminology.
Which companies hire entry level health data analysts?
Companies hiring entry level health data analysts right now include Northrop Grumman, Ralph Lauren, and Kaiser Permanente, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from hospital networks, health insurance carriers, government health agencies, and digital health startups that need analysts to support reporting and quality-improvement initiatives.
Are there remote entry level health data analyst jobs?
Yes, though remote availability varies by employer type. About 19% of entry level health data analyst openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which is strong for an entry level role in a clinical-adjacent field. Hospital and clinic-side roles tend to require on-site presence, while health tech companies, insurers, and government contractors are more likely to offer flexible arrangements for analysts who work primarily with data systems rather than patients.
Are these new grad health data analyst jobs?
Yes. The listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior health data analyst roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no prior experience. A new-grad-friendly posting typically states that zero to two years of experience is acceptable, lists internship or academic project work as qualifying experience, or asks for a portfolio sample rather than a proven work history. If a role lists a degree requirement but not a minimum years requirement, it is generally open to new graduates.
Which industries hire the most entry level health data analysts?
Entry Level health data analyst roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Electronics & Hardware, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they generate large volumes of patient, claims, and population health data that require analysts to clean, report, and interpret, making them natural entry points for candidates building their first professional experience.
