Entry Level Data Architect Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level data architect job?
Build hands-on experience with data modeling tools, cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and SQL before applying. Employers hiring at the entry level look for a portfolio of academic or personal projects that demonstrates schema design and data pipeline work. Certifications in cloud data services and familiarity with warehousing concepts like star schemas give candidates a clear edge over applicants with coursework alone.
Which companies hire entry level data architects?
Companies hiring entry level data architects right now include CVS Health, JBS INTERNATIONAL, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring covers technology firms, financial services companies, healthcare systems, and consulting practices that build data infrastructure teams and bring in junior talent to grow alongside senior architects.
Are there remote entry level data architect jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles remain common at this stage. About 57% of entry level data architect openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting demand from employers who offer location flexibility even for candidates newer to the field. Filtering by work setting on Migrate Mate lets you focus only on openings that match your preference.

Yes. The listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior data architect roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and treats internships, capstone projects, or a strong portfolio as equivalent to full-time work history. Look for language like "entry level," "junior," or "0 to 2 years" in the requirements section as a reliable signal.
