Entry Level Power Bi Developer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level power bi developer job?
Build a portfolio of Power BI reports and dashboards using public datasets, and publish them on GitHub or a personal site so hiring managers can see your work directly. Employers at this level look for DAX basics, data modeling fundamentals, and hands-on experience connecting to sources like Excel or SQL databases. Internships, capstone projects, or self-directed case studies all count. A Microsoft PL-300 certification adds a concrete credential that signals readiness even without full-time experience.
Which companies hire entry level power bi developers?
Companies hiring entry level power bi developers right now include Unisys, BARCEL, and Capgemini, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, you'll find openings at a wide range of employers, from large enterprises building out analytics teams to mid-size organizations bringing their first dedicated BI developer on board.
Are there remote entry level power bi developer jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and team structure. About 40% of entry level power bi developer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting strong demand for BI skills across distributed teams. Hybrid roles are common at companies that want new hires to collaborate in person during onboarding before shifting to a flexible schedule.
Are these new grad power bi developer jobs?
Yes, many of the roles listed here are new grad and junior positions that explicitly welcome recent graduates and candidates with limited professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically accepts zero to two years of experience, counts internships or academic projects toward that threshold, and values a portfolio over a long work history. Look for language like "entry level," "junior," or "recent graduates encouraged to apply" in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level power bi developers?
