Entry Level Data Analyst Lead Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level data analyst lead job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who can demonstrate analytical thinking through real work, not just coursework. A portfolio with two or three projects showing data cleaning, visualization, or business insights gives you a concrete edge. Internship experience matters, but bootcamp projects and self-directed case studies can substitute. Proficiency in SQL and one visualization tool like Tableau or Power BI is the baseline most hiring managers expect at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level data analyst leads?
Companies hiring entry level data analyst leads right now include Northrop Grumman, Ralph Lauren, and Kaiser Permanente, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from a mix of mid-size technology firms, healthcare organizations, and retail companies building out their analytics teams and willing to grow junior talent into the role.
Are there remote entry level data analyst lead jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and industry. About 18% of entry level data analyst lead openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which gives new candidates flexibility in where they apply. Many remote postings at this level still expect occasional in-person collaboration, so reviewing each listing's location requirements before applying is worth doing.
Are these new grad data analyst lead jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad friendly, including roles aimed at recent graduates and junior candidates just entering the field. A new grad posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, academic projects, or a strong portfolio in place of full-time work history. Look for language like "entry level," "new graduate welcome," or "no prior professional experience required" in the job description to confirm the posting is new-grad accessible.
Which industries hire the most entry level data analyst leads?
Entry Level data analyst lead roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Electronics & Hardware, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they generate large volumes of operational data and need analysts who can help teams interpret it quickly, making them natural entry points for candidates building their first professional data experience.
