Entry Level Clinical Data Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level clinical data analyst job?
Entry level clinical data analyst roles typically look for familiarity with SQL, Excel, and at least one statistical or data visualization tool such as SAS, R, or Tableau. A capstone project, internship, or any hands-on work with clinical or healthcare datasets gives candidates a concrete edge. Tailoring your resume to show data cleaning, validation, or reporting work, even from coursework, signals readiness for these positions.
Which companies hire entry level clinical data analysts?
Companies hiring entry level clinical data analysts right now include Northrop Grumman, Ralph Lauren, and Kaiser Permanente, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring covers pharmaceutical and biotech firms, contract research organizations, and health systems looking to grow junior data teams.
Are there remote entry level clinical data analyst jobs?
Yes, though not all postings at this level are fully remote. About 15% of entry level clinical data analyst openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so there is a real mix depending on the employer and role. On-site positions remain common, particularly at hospitals, clinical research sites, and organizations that require direct access to regulated data systems.
Are these new grad clinical data analyst jobs?
Yes, the roles listed here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior clinical data analyst positions. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, co-ops, academic research, or a strong project portfolio in place of full-time work history. Look for phrases like "recent graduates encouraged to apply" or "no prior professional experience required" as clear signals the role suits someone just entering the field.
Which industries hire the most entry level clinical data analysts?
Entry Level clinical data analyst roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors generate consistent demand at the junior level because they run large volumes of clinical trials, regulatory submissions, and patient data workflows that require analysts who can support data collection, cleaning, and quality checks from day one.
