What We're Looking For:
This position works independently on a variety of projects in different offices providing CAD generated drawings to Project Managers, Engineers, Surveyors, Architects, Landscape Architects, and others.
Responsibilities:
- Creates clear and graphically representational documents utilizing computer assisted engineering and design software ensuring project deliverables are made according to quality standards.
- Provides support on complex projects in various offices by calculating, analyzing, organizing, coordinating and researching complex sets of data and information.
- Processes survey data, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features and boundaries.
- Prepares descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases or other legal documents.
- Coordinates findings with the work of engineers, clients, and others involved in projects.
- Ensures technical accuracy, standard surveying practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports, plans and exhibits, etc.
- Identifies problems and recommends solutions to supervisor(s).
- Provides a high level of attention and focus towards the creation of complex technical documents that are scrutinized for accuracy and consistency and are regularly revised and reviewed.
- Reviews and critiques drawings and provides a quality check on others work.
- Prepares cost and quantity estimates.
- May act as project specific lead for technical work of others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Two year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying or equivalent with 6 years relevant experience, or other relevant combination of education and/or experience.
Skills:
- Applies seasoned knowledge through progressive experience to resolve issues.
- Extensive knowledge of Auto Cad, Microstation, and other essential equipment for field and office work.
- Provides resourcefulness and initiative to perform projects.
People Skills:
- Mentors less experienced technicians, designers, and others offering advice and knowledge.
- Reviews work of others for quality purposes.

- Timeliness & Quality of work and budget adherence.
- Utilization rates align with goal.

Other:
- Walk, sit, and stand. Occasionally reach with hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Occasionally climb 25-30 feet.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally may work out of doors and in rough terrain. Individuals will walk, sit, stand while operating various equipment, tools and machinery. Visual acuity sufficient to read alpha/numeric symbols and perform challenging computation and design.
- Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively to project issues that arise.
- Valid driver's license and sufficient driving record.
