Clinical Data Analyst Jobs in Portland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical data analyst job in Portland?
The strongest path into Portland's clinical data analyst market runs through its health systems and academic medical centers, which drive the bulk of local hiring. Roles concentrate in South Waterfront and the Lloyd District. Candidates with hands-on experience in electronic health records platforms, clinical trial data, or regulatory reporting stand out. Tailoring your application to Oregon Health and Science University affiliates or regional health insurers gives you a practical edge in this market.
Which companies hire clinical data analysts in Portland?
Employers hiring clinical data analysts in Portland right now include adidas, Jacobs, and Moda Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Portland's hiring mix leans toward large integrated health systems, regional health insurers, and medical device and life sciences firms with a Pacific Northwest footprint.
Are there remote clinical data analyst jobs in Portland?
Yes, and clinical data analyst work is well-suited to remote arrangements given its analytical and desk-based nature. About 85% of clinical data analyst openings tied to Portland are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader health sector flexibility post-pandemic. The most remote-friendly tasks locally are data validation, reporting, and SAS or SQL-based analysis work that doesn't require on-site access to clinical systems.
How can I get a clinical data analyst job in Portland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Portland is through a clinical research coordinator or data entry associate role at one of the city's health systems or contract research organizations, which regularly hire for early-career positions. Oregon Health and Science University's research programs and regional community health networks also bring on junior analysts. Proficiency in Excel, REDCap, or basic SQL, combined with any hands-on clinical or research internship experience, meaningfully strengthens a Portland application at the entry level.
Which industries hire the most clinical data analysts in Portland?
Portland clinical data analyst roles concentrate in Insurance, Fashion & Apparel, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Portland's hiring in these sectors is anchored by its position as a regional hub for health care delivery, academic medical research, and a growing life sciences and medical technology cluster anchored in the South Waterfront corridor.
