Overview:
Utilizes a global perspective when assessing educational needs toward the development and implementation of curriculum for hospital-wide programs. Performs outcomes analysis of current programs to determine needed modifications to content to enhance patient outcomes, staff performance, clinical competence and professional development. Teaches, develops and mentors through a broad range of activities that lead to the development and implementation of a professional practice model. Leads in the planning, implementation and evaluation of new systems/processes as they impact staff competency in the delivery of patient centered care. Facilitates an environment that values and enhances research, knowledge and professional development.
ACDP
Responsibilities:
- Provides for course development and implementation, evaluation and management of educational activities at both the facility and collegiate program. Leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of new systems/processes as they impact the patient care model and development of staff at all levels including preceptors, RN's LPN's, PCA's, CA's and other roles as assigned.
- Performs outcomes analysis of current programs and consults with nursing management, PI and Risk Management to determine methods to enhance patient outcomes and increase staff competency.
- Mentors and coaches assigned staff daily by working directly with staff to ensure their practice is consistent with performance expectations.
- Participates in providing and coordinating at least 6 (six) nursing and/or hospital wide educational presentations annually.
- Develops curriculum for competency programs based on identified hospital and unit needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required education:
- Master's Degree in Nursing
Required certifications:
- Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification required within 1 year of hire.
- BLS
- ACLS
- Instructor certification for BLS/ACLS and PALS preferred
Required experience:
- 1 year of RN teaching experience
- 2 years of RN OR experience
Required license:
- Active State of Florida RN license
