Clinical Case Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical case manager in Florida?
Most clinical case manager roles in Florida require licensure through the Florida Department of Health, typically as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or an active RN license for medically focused positions. Candidates complete an accredited degree program in social work, nursing, or a related field, accumulate supervised clinical hours, and pass the relevant state board exam. Many Florida employers also value or require the Certified Case Manager (CCM) credential from the Commission for Case Manager Certification.
Which companies hire clinical case managers in Florida?
Employers hiring clinical case managers in Florida right now include Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Palm Medical Centers, and UF Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Florida's large managed care footprint and its network of hospital systems and behavioral health agencies mean consistent demand from both insurance-side and direct-care employers across the state.
Which Florida cities have the most clinical case manager jobs?
Sarasota, Orlando, and Palatka have the most clinical case manager openings in Florida. Miami leads due to its dense concentration of managed care plans, hospital systems, and community health organizations serving one of the most diverse patient populations in the country, while Tampa and Orlando draw significant hiring from regional health systems and large employer-sponsored insurance operations anchored in both metros.
Are there remote clinical case manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many clinical roles. About 0% of clinical case manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, reflecting how much of the work, including care coordination calls, documentation, and utilization review, can be done outside a facility. Telephone and telephonic case management positions within managed care and insurance companies are the sub-areas most consistently offered in remote formats.
How can I get hired as a clinical case manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is transitioning from a closely related role such as discharge planner, care coordinator, or behavioral health technician within a Florida hospital or community mental health center. Large Florida health systems like AdventHealth and HCA Florida regularly hire associate or entry-level care coordinators who work alongside licensed case managers while completing supervised hours toward licensure. Earning a CCM credential or completing Florida Medicaid training signals readiness to employers and helps candidates stand out at the application stage.
