Clinical Development Specialist Jobs in Waltham: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical development specialist job in Waltham?
Focus your search on the biopharma and contract research organizations clustered along Route 128 and the Winter Street life sciences corridor, since those employers drive the bulk of Waltham's clinical development hiring. Candidates with hands-on trial management, regulatory affairs, or clinical data experience stand out locally. Applying directly to mid-size biotech companies that run their own studies gives you the best chance at a first offer.
Which companies hire clinical development specialists in Waltham?
Companies currently hiring clinical development specialists in Waltham include AbbVie, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and ZoomInfo, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Waltham attracts a mix of global pharmaceutical firms with regional offices and growth-stage biotechs that keep their entire clinical operations teams on-site.
Are there remote clinical development specialist jobs in Waltham?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role, since site-facing and monitoring functions typically require on-site presence while data review, regulatory writing, and trial operations coordination are more remote-compatible. About 50% of clinical development specialist openings tied to Waltham are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a broad range of function types. Protocol management and medical writing positions are the roles most likely to offer full remote flexibility from Waltham-based employers.
How can I get a clinical development specialist job in Waltham with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Waltham is through a clinical research coordinator or clinical operations associate role at one of the many mid-size biotechs or contract research organizations along Route 128. These employers regularly hire candidates with life sciences degrees and internship or co-op backgrounds from nearby universities. Gaining exposure to CTMS platforms and GCP training before applying gives you a concrete edge with local hiring teams.
Which industries hire the most clinical development specialists in Waltham?
The sectors hiring the most clinical development specialists in Waltham are Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Science & Research, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Waltham's dense concentration of Route 128 life sciences campuses and its proximity to Boston's research hospitals make these sectors the dominant employers for the role locally.
