INTRODUCTION
ChristianaCare's Vascular Surgery in Newark is seeking a professional, compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills.
Vascular Surgery is growing at ChristianaCare. A critically important service within the hospital, Vascular Surgery is a medical specialty focused on diagnosing and treating diseases of the body’s vascular system - the arteries and veins - excluding the heart and brain.
As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
No weekends or holidays

Duties / Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
Position Qualifications:
High School Graduate or GED required.
A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
