Clinical Research Assistant Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical research assistant job in Atlanta?
The strongest path into Atlanta's clinical research market is targeting the academic medical centers clustered along the Emory corridor and the contract research organizations headquartered in Midtown and Buckhead. Candidates with hands-on experience in clinical trials, GCP certification, or familiarity with electronic data capture systems stand out. Volunteering or interning through Emory's research programs or Grady Memorial Hospital is a common local entry point.
Which companies hire clinical research assistants in Atlanta?
Companies currently hiring clinical research assistants in Atlanta include Emory University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and DelRicht Research, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's mix of university-affiliated health systems, CROs, and growing biotech companies means openings appear across both large institutions and smaller specialty research firms.
Are there remote clinical research assistant jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though with limits: hands-on trial coordination and on-site patient interaction are rarely remote, while data entry, regulatory submissions, and study coordination support can be done off-site. About 59% of clinical research assistant openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Biotech firms and CROs in Midtown tend to offer the most hybrid flexibility for administrative and data-focused functions.
How can I get a clinical research assistant job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is applying for research coordinator or clinical trials assistant roles at Emory University Hospital, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, or local CROs that routinely hire entry-level candidates for data and administrative support functions. A Good Clinical Practice certification and any exposure to IRB processes, even through coursework, gives candidates a measurable edge over applicants with no research background.
Which industries hire the most clinical research assistants in Atlanta?
Atlanta clinical research assistant roles concentrate in Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's dense network of academic medical centers, CDC proximity, and a growing biotech corridor anchored in Midtown and Decatur drive consistent demand across those sectors.
