Research Scientist (Digital Health Interventions)
Job Summary
The University of Pittsburgh’s School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Research Scientist (Digital Health Interventions) to conduct scientific research in rehabilitation science and health informatics for individuals with chronic conditions and disabilities. Duties include:
- conducting scientific research including designing research studies, interpreting research data using quantitative and qualitative methods, and preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication;
- training and mentoring students and technicians;
- contributing to research proposals and grants applications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a PhD degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Rehabilitation Science, Health Informatics, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related position.
Experience must include three (3) years:
- working on research projects in rehabilitation science, health informatics, digital health, or healthcare interventions for individuals with chronic conditions and disabilities;
- designing, developing, implementing, and deploying digital health interventions such as mobile health applications, web-based platforms, backend systems, and cloud-based infrastructure to meet defined research objectives;
- collecting and analyzing data using quantitative and/or qualitative methods such as usability testing, user interviews, or other user-centered design methods to inform system design, evaluate usability, assess user needs, or support research activities;
- contributing to research dissemination through peer-reviewed publications, research reports, or technical documentation.
Must also have at least one peer-reviewed publication related to rehabilitation informatics or health informatics.
Experience can be concurrent.
