Align your portfolio to hospitality data problems
Airbnb's data contributors work on problems like pricing signals, host quality scoring, and traveler demand forecasting. Frame your portfolio projects around marketplace or platform data rather than generic analytics to stand out in their screening process.
Confirm LCA-backed job postings before applying
Before investing time in Airbnb's application process, check DOL's FLAG system for Labor Condition Applications filed under Data Contributor or similar titles. An active LCA signals a role is already set up for sponsored hires, not just open to them in theory.
Clarify your visa category early in recruiter conversations
Airbnb sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT for data roles, and each has different timing requirements. Tell the recruiter your current status in the first conversation so they loop in immigration counsel before an offer is drafted, not after.
Prepare degree equivalency documentation if needed
H-1B specialty occupation requirements mean your degree must map directly to a Data Contributor role. If your credential is from outside the U.S., get a USCIS-recognized credential evaluation completed before your interview stage so it doesn't slow down petition filing.
Target Airbnb's trust and platform integrity teams
Airbnb's data contributor openings cluster around platform integrity, community quality, and host and guest experience teams. Filtering your search to these functions on their careers page surfaces roles most likely to have established sponsorship pathways already in place.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship roles
Not every Airbnb data posting is open to sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to filter Data Contributor jobs at Airbnb by visa type, so you're applying only to roles where sponsorship has been confirmed rather than assumed.

Find Data Contributor at Airbnb JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Airbnb sponsor H-1B visas for Data Contributors?
Yes, Airbnb sponsors H-1B visas for Data Contributor roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as statistics, computer science, or data science. Your employer files the H-1B petition with USCIS after a certified Labor Condition Application is secured from the DOL. Cap-subject petitions are subject to the annual lottery, so timing your job search around the March registration window matters.
How do I apply for Data Contributor jobs at Airbnb?
Applications go through Airbnb's careers portal at careers.airbnb.com. Search for Data Contributor or related data titles and filter by location. Before applying, review the job description carefully for sponsorship language or role-specific requirements. Once you apply, the process typically moves through an initial recruiter screen, technical assessments focused on data quality or SQL, and panel interviews with cross-functional stakeholders from product and engineering teams.
Which visa types does Airbnb commonly use for Data Contributor roles?
Airbnb sponsors multiple visa categories for data-focused roles. H-1B is the most common path for long-term authorization. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which has no lottery and processes at U.S. consulates. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles may use TN status. F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extensions allow recent graduates to work while a longer-term petition is filed. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is available for longer-tenure employees.
What qualifications does Airbnb expect for Data Contributor positions?
Airbnb's Data Contributor roles typically require proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language like Python, along with experience working with large-scale datasets in a product or marketplace environment. Familiarity with data pipeline tooling and experience contributing to data quality initiatives are valued. For sponsored candidates, your degree must align closely with the role's technical requirements to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation standards, so a directly relevant field of study strengthens your petition.
How do I find Data Contributor roles at Airbnb that are open to visa sponsorship?
Not every open role at Airbnb includes explicit sponsorship language, which makes it difficult to filter on their careers page alone. Migrate Mate aggregates Data Contributor jobs at Airbnb and surfaces only those with confirmed visa sponsorship, letting you focus your applications on postings where sponsorship is already established rather than following up with recruiters to confirm eligibility.
