Find Data Contributor at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Data Contributors?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Data Contributor roles. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, Apple typically files petitions in April for an October 1 start date. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a transfer can happen outside the lottery window, which makes mid-year hiring more straightforward.
How do I apply for Data Contributor jobs at Apple?
Apply directly through Apple's careers site at jobs.apple.com, filtering by role title and team. Data Contributor postings often appear under machine learning, Maps, or health platform divisions. You can also find verified Apple Data Contributor openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which helps you confirm sponsorship eligibility before investing time in an application.
Which visa types does Apple commonly sponsor for Data Contributor roles?
Apple sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Data Contributor positions. Australian citizens typically use the E-3, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable periods. Canadian and Mexican nationals often use the TN. OPT and CPT provide a practical bridge for students already in the U.S. before transitioning to a long-term visa.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Data Contributor roles?
Apple's Data Contributor roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, linguistics, cognitive science, statistics, or a closely related field, plus hands-on experience with data annotation, labeling pipelines, or quality evaluation workflows. Familiarity with tools used in machine learning data preparation is a strong differentiator. Some roles under the Maps or Health teams also value domain-specific knowledge in geospatial or biomedical data.
How long does the sponsorship process take once Apple makes an offer?
Timeline depends on visa category. For H-1B, the DOL LCA certification takes roughly seven business days, then USCIS adjudication adds two to six months for standard processing or up to 15 business days with premium processing. E-3 applicants can often move faster by attending a consular interview in Australia, sometimes within a few weeks of receiving the certified LCA and employer support letter.
