Frame your HR credentials around engineering firm needs
BKF Engineers runs a project-based consulting business, so HR candidates who can demonstrate experience with technical recruiting, professional licensing compliance, or workforce planning for billable staff will stand out over generalists with unrelated industry backgrounds.
Target roles where PERM sponsorship is most viable
Consulting firms typically sponsor HR roles through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your position to have a clearly defined minimum requirement. Roles with specific degree requirements in HR, business, or a related field are stronger PERM candidates than broadly scoped generalist positions.
Search BKF Engineers openings on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter for HR roles at BKF Engineers and surface positions where sponsorship has been offered. This lets you focus your applications on openings where a sponsorship conversation is already realistic rather than cold-applying across the board.
Raise sponsorship before the final offer stage
Engineering consulting firms often have lean HR teams handling their own hiring. Asking about sponsorship policy during an early-round conversation, rather than after an offer is extended, avoids delays and signals you understand the firm's operational constraints.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 differ for your background
EB-2 requires either a U.S. advanced degree or a foreign equivalent, while EB-3 covers professionals with a U.S. bachelor's or foreign equivalent. Your degree level and how your credentials are evaluated by USCIS will determine which category your employer can file under.
Confirm your employer meets E-Verify enrollment requirements
If you're currently on OPT or STEM OPT, your employer must be enrolled in E-Verify before you can use that work authorization. Verify BKF Engineers' E-Verify status before accepting an offer to avoid a gap in your employment authorization.

Find Human Resources at BKF Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BKF Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources?
BKF Engineers' sponsorship activity for Human Resources roles has been concentrated in permanent residence categories rather than H-1B. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, a transfer to BKF is possible, but you should confirm directly with their HR team whether they're prepared to file an H-1B transfer petition for this function.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at BKF Engineers?
You can find and apply for Human Resources openings at BKF Engineers through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles at employers with a sponsorship track record. When you apply, tailor your materials to the firm's engineering and consulting context, and be prepared to address sponsorship eligibility early in the process since BKF operates with a smaller internal HR structure.
Which visa types are commonly used for Human Resources roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers has sponsored HR professionals through employment-based Green Card categories, primarily EB-2 and EB-3. These routes require a PERM labor certification filed by the employer with the Department of Labor, followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS. Candidates from high-demand countries should factor in priority date wait times when evaluating this pathway.
What qualifications are expected for Human Resources roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers typically hires HR professionals who can support a technical, project-driven workforce. Relevant experience in recruiting engineers or licensed professionals, familiarity with multi-state employment compliance, and a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field are common expectations. SHRM certification can strengthen your application for mid-to-senior level positions.
How long does the sponsorship process take for an HR role at BKF Engineers?
The PERM labor certification process alone can take six months to over a year depending on DOL audit rates at the time of filing. After PERM approval, USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition, which can add several additional months. For candidates from countries with backlogged visa categories, total wait times to receive a Green Card can extend significantly beyond the initial filing.
