Align your portfolio to Bloomberg's data infrastructure
Bloomberg's Data Science Engineering roles emphasize real-time data pipelines, low-latency systems, and financial data modeling. Tailor your portfolio to reflect distributed systems work or time-series data projects so your experience maps directly to their core technical stack.
Prepare for technical rounds before discussing visa timelines
Bloomberg's engineering interviews are multi-stage and heavy on systems design and coding. Lock in your technical performance first. Visa conversations typically happen after an offer is extended, not during screening rounds.
Confirm your start date accounts for LCA certification
Before Bloomberg can file your H-1B petition, they must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL. That step alone can take one to two weeks. Factor this into any proposed start date so the filing timeline isn't compressed.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Data Science Engineer roles at Bloomberg
Bloomberg posts Data Science Engineer openings across multiple teams and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Bloomberg roles that are open to visa sponsorship so you're not manually sorting through listings that won't lead anywhere.
Get your educational credentials evaluated before your offer stage
If your degree is from outside the United States, USCIS will scrutinize whether it's equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's in a relevant field. A credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency in hand before your offer accelerates the petition prep process considerably.

Find Data Science Engineer at Bloomberg JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Bloomberg sponsor H-1B visas for Data Science Engineers?
Yes, Bloomberg sponsors H-1B visas for Data Science Engineers. The company has an established immigration program and works with legal counsel to file H-1B petitions for qualifying roles. Sponsorship is typically confirmed during the offer process, after your technical interviews are complete and a formal offer is extended.
Which visa types does Bloomberg use for Data Science Engineer roles?
Bloomberg sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Data Science Engineers. H-1B1 is available to Singaporean nationals and E-3 to Australian citizens only. If you qualify for either of those categories, it's worth flagging early since they avoid the H-1B lottery entirely.
How do I apply for Data Science Engineer jobs at Bloomberg?
Applications go through Bloomberg's careers portal. You can also find open Data Science Engineer roles at Bloomberg filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. Bloomberg's hiring process typically includes a recruiter screen, multiple technical rounds covering systems design and coding, and a final interview loop before an offer is made.
What qualifications does Bloomberg expect for Data Science Engineer roles?
Bloomberg generally looks for proficiency in Python or C++, experience with large-scale data systems or real-time pipelines, and strong fundamentals in statistics or machine learning depending on the team. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, or a closely related quantitative field is standard. Practical experience with financial data or distributed systems strengthens your candidacy.
How do I understand the visa filing timeline if Bloomberg extends me an offer?
Once you accept an offer, Bloomberg's immigration team typically initiates the Labor Condition Application filing with the DOL, which must be certified before the H-1B petition goes to USCIS. Standard USCIS processing runs several months, though premium processing can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days. Your confirmed start date needs to account for each of these stages.
