Align your portfolio to Adobe's AI stack
Adobe's Data Science Engineers work extensively with GenAI tooling, Firefly model infrastructure, and real-time personalization pipelines. Before applying, document projects involving large language models, recommendation systems, or A/B experimentation frameworks that mirror those product surfaces.
Verify your specialty occupation credentials early
USCIS requires a direct connection between your degree field and the Data Science Engineer role. If your degree is in a adjacent discipline like statistics or physics, gather course transcripts and a credential evaluation before you receive an offer, not after.
Target Adobe's product-aligned engineering teams
Adobe posts Data Science Engineer roles under distinct product umbrellas. Roles tied to Adobe Sensei, GenStudio, or Adobe Analytics have distinct technical scopes. Applying to the team whose product output matches your domain increases the likelihood your petition clearly satisfies specialty occupation criteria.
Find open Data Science Engineer roles on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Adobe's current Data Science Engineer openings by visa type. This lets you confirm which roles are actively sponsoring and match your authorization category before investing time in the application process.
Understand Adobe's LCA filing timeline relative to your status
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before your H-1B petition reaches USCIS. If you're on OPT with less than 90 days remaining, confirm Adobe's internal legal team can complete LCA certification and submit before your work authorization gap triggers.
Prepare for technical rounds that double as qualification evidence
Adobe's Data Science Engineer interviews typically include system design rounds covering ML pipelines and model serving. Your performance documentation, including take-home assessments or case study outputs, can support the employer's RFE response if USCIS questions your specialized expertise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Adobe sponsor H-1B visas for Data Science Engineers?
Yes, Adobe sponsors H-1B visas for Data Science Engineers. The company participates in the annual H-1B lottery, which opens each March for an October 1 start date. Because selection is not guaranteed, Adobe also sponsors E-3 visas for Australian citizens, TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and supports F-1 OPT extensions, giving international candidates multiple pathways into the same roles.
Which visa types does Adobe commonly use for Data Science Engineer roles?
Adobe files across several nonimmigrant categories for this role: H-1B for most international hires, E-3 for Australian citizens, and TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical occupations. F-1 OPT and CPT are supported for students, and J-1 visa is available for certain exchange programs. For permanent residence, Adobe sponsors through EB-2 and EB-3 PERM-based pathways.
What qualifications and experience does Adobe expect for Data Science Engineer positions?
Adobe's Data Science Engineer roles typically require a graduate degree in computer science, statistics, machine learning, or a related quantitative field, along with hands-on experience building and deploying production ML systems. Familiarity with experimentation platforms, model serving infrastructure, and large-scale data pipelines is common across postings. Roles tied to Adobe Sensei or GenAI products may require specific experience with generative model architectures.
How do I apply for Data Science Engineer jobs at Adobe?
Search for open Data Science Engineer roles through Migrate Mate, which filters Adobe's current postings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Once you identify a match, apply through Adobe's careers portal and tailor your resume to the specific product team. Adobe's recruiting process includes recruiter screens, technical assessments covering ML system design, and domain-specific interviews aligned to the team's product area.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship to work at Adobe?
The H-1B cap-subject lottery opens each March, with an October 1 start date if selected. If you're finishing a degree or on OPT, confirm your work authorization covers the gap between your start date and October 1. If you're not selected in the lottery, discuss cap-exempt alternatives or E-3 and TN eligibility with Adobe's immigration team immediately, since waiting for the next lottery cycle costs a full year.
