Align your portfolio to Adobe's AI product surface
Adobe's AI Product Engineer roles center on Firefly, Sensei, and generative features embedded in Creative Cloud. Tailor your portfolio to show shipped AI features, not just research. Hiring managers scan for product intuition alongside ML depth.
Verify your degree field maps to the role
H-1B specialty occupation requires your degree to directly relate to the position. For AI Product Engineer roles, a degree in Computer Science, AI, or a closely related engineering field satisfies this. A general business or humanities degree won't, even with strong experience.
Start OPT paperwork before your offer letter arrives
If you're on F-1, request your OPT EAD from your DSO as early as 90 days before graduation. Adobe's onboarding timelines are fixed. Arriving at your start date without valid work authorization delays everything and creates friction with the hiring team.
Understand how Adobe structures the H-1B filing timeline
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start. If your offer comes after the lottery, Adobe will typically bridge you on OPT or another status. Confirm this bridge plan explicitly during offer negotiation so there's no ambiguity.
Track open AI Product Engineer roles using Migrate Mate
Adobe posts AI Product Engineer openings across multiple teams and locations at different times. Use Migrate Mate to filter Adobe's active listings by visa-sponsored roles so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, not assumed.
Ask about PERM timing if you're targeting a Green Card
Adobe sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification typically can't begin until after your first year of employment. Asking about this timeline during the offer stage signals seriousness and helps you plan around any priority date backlogs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Adobe sponsor H-1B visas for AI Product Engineers?
Yes, Adobe sponsors H-1B visas for AI Product Engineer roles. The company files petitions through the annual USCIS lottery, which opens each March for an October 1 start date. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Adobe can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition without waiting for approval.
How do I apply for AI Product Engineer jobs at Adobe?
Apply directly through Adobe's careers site or find open AI Product Engineer roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Adobe's hiring process for this function typically includes a recruiter screen, a technical assessment focused on AI and product thinking, and multiple panel interviews. Tailoring your application to specific product areas like Firefly or Experience Cloud improves your chances of getting past the initial screen.
Which visa types does Adobe commonly use for AI Product Engineers?
Adobe sponsors H-1B and E-3 visas for AI Product Engineers, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. For longer-term pathways, Adobe supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, typically initiated after your first year of employment.
What qualifications does Adobe expect for AI Product Engineer roles?
Adobe's AI Product Engineer positions typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related engineering field. Beyond credentials, hiring managers look for experience building and shipping AI-powered product features, familiarity with large language models or generative AI systems, and the ability to work across engineering and design teams. Research experience or published work in AI can strengthen an application.
How long does Adobe's visa sponsorship process take for this role?
Timeline depends on your visa type. F-1 OPT can authorize work within a few weeks of your DSO submitting the application. H-1B standard processing takes three to five months through USCIS, while premium processing reduces that to roughly 15 business days. E-3 consular appointments in Australia currently run two to four weeks at most consulates. Adobe's recruiting team will work around these timelines, but confirming your authorization status early in the offer process prevents delays.
