Tailor your portfolio to financial AI use cases
JPMorganChase prioritizes AI product work tied to real-world financial applications like risk modeling, fraud detection, and trading systems. Showcase projects that demonstrate applied ML or LLM experience in regulated, data-intensive environments, not just research-oriented work.
Target roles within the firm's AI Research division
JPMorganChase houses a dedicated AI Research organization. Roles posted under this division often involve deeper product-engineering ownership. Filtering for these positions puts you in front of hiring managers actively building teams around generative AI and applied research pipelines.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visa are all used for engineering roles at large financial firms. Knowing which category applies to your nationality lets you ask informed questions during negotiations and avoids delays when JPMorganChase's legal team initiates the sponsorship filing process.
Expect PERM for permanent residence pathways
JPMorganChase files PERM labor certifications for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship. These processes are DOL-driven and can span multiple years. Raise the topic of permanent residence sponsorship during your offer negotiation, not after you've already started.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open AI Product Engineer roles
JPMorganChase posts AI product engineering positions across multiple divisions, and openings move quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for JPMorganChase roles that align with your visa type so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare credentials for specialty occupation documentation
USCIS requires that H-1B petitions demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For AI product roles, this means your degree field must align directly with the position. A transcript review and a degree equivalency evaluation are worth completing before your employer files Form I-129.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for AI Product Engineers?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for AI Product Engineer roles. The firm is a large, established H-1B employer with a dedicated immigration legal team that manages filings across its technology and product divisions. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your employer will register you in the annual USCIS lottery, which opens each spring for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for AI Product Engineer jobs at JPMorganChase?
You can apply through JPMorganChase's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters open AI Product Engineer roles at JPMorganChase by visa sponsorship eligibility. Applications typically involve a resume screen, technical assessment, and multiple interview rounds covering system design, ML fundamentals, and product thinking specific to financial services contexts.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase use for AI Product Engineer roles?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for engineering and product roles, depending on your nationality. Australian citizens qualify for the E-3, which has a dedicated annual allocation and no lottery. Chilean and Singaporean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1. For long-term permanent residence, JPMorganChase also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification.
What qualifications are expected for AI Product Engineer roles at JPMorganChase?
Most AI Product Engineer roles at JPMorganChase expect a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, machine learning, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience building and deploying AI or ML systems at scale is weighted heavily. Familiarity with financial services domains, such as risk, fraud, or trading, strengthens your candidacy, as does experience working within regulated technology environments.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at JPMorganChase?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 and H-1B1 visa petitions can be processed in a few weeks if filed at a U.S. consulate abroad. H-1B transfers for candidates already in valid status can begin on a receipt notice, so work authorization continues without a gap. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship is a multi-year process driven by DOL review timelines and your priority date under the EB-2 or EB-3 category.
