Frame your credentials around U.S. regulatory frameworks
JPMorganChase Compliance roles often require familiarity with BSA, AML, and Dodd-Frank requirements. If your background is international, translate your experience into equivalent U.S. regulatory language before you apply, so hiring managers can assess your fit immediately.
Target divisions with dedicated compliance infrastructure
JPMorganChase's Corporate and Investment Bank, Asset and Wealth Management, and Consumer Banking lines each maintain separate compliance functions with distinct hiring cycles. Applying to a specific line of business rather than a generic 'Compliance' posting increases your chances of reaching a team actively filling a role.
Distinguish yourself by specialization not just seniority
Roles in financial crimes compliance, particularly those involving sanctions screening and OFAC programs, are in high demand across large holding companies. Positioning yourself as a specialist in one regulatory area, rather than a generalist, gives your application a sharper angle at a firm the size of JPMorganChase.
Clarify your visa status early in the recruiter conversation
JPMorganChase's recruiting process for Compliance involves multiple screening rounds. Disclose your sponsorship needs to the recruiter at the first call, not after a final-round interview, so the firm's immigration team can confirm sponsorship eligibility for your specific role and level before you invest significant time.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Compliance openings filtered by sponsorship
Compliance postings at large financial institutions often disappear quickly. Use Migrate Mate to browse JPMorganChase Compliance roles confirmed to offer visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where the pathway is already established rather than guessing from a generic job board.
Understand the LCA's wage requirement before negotiating your offer
For H-1B and E-3 sponsorship, JPMorganChase must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying that your salary meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. Knowing the prevailing wage tier for your Compliance title in New York or the relevant office city helps you negotiate from an informed position.

Find Compliance at JPMorganChase JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Compliance roles?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Compliance professionals. The firm has a dedicated immigration function that manages filings across its business lines. Sponsorship is generally available for mid-to-senior Compliance roles where the position meets the H-1B specialty occupation requirement, which typically means a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field is required for the job.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly sponsor for Compliance positions?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for the broadest range of Compliance roles, and also files H-1B1 petitions for Chilean and Singaporean nationals and E-3 visas for Australian citizens. For longer-term pathways, the firm sponsors Green Card cases through the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. The visa type available to you depends on your nationality, role level, and how long you've been with the firm.
How do I apply for Compliance jobs at JPMorganChase?
Applications go through JPMorganChase's careers portal, where Compliance roles are listed by line of business. You can also find sponsorship-confirmed Compliance openings at JPMorganChase through Migrate Mate, which filters postings by visa type and employer sponsorship history. Tailor your resume to the specific regulatory area the role covers, whether that's AML, sanctions, or conduct risk, rather than submitting a broad compliance profile.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for Compliance roles that include visa sponsorship?
For H-1B eligibility, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, so JPMorganChase generally requires at least a bachelor's degree in finance, law, accounting, or a related discipline. Beyond the degree, the firm typically looks for direct regulatory experience in areas like BSA or AML compliance, familiarity with U.S. financial regulation, and for senior roles, prior experience managing regulatory examinations or interfacing with agencies such as the OCC or SEC.
How do I think about timing when pursuing a sponsored Compliance role at JPMorganChase?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, the annual cap lottery closes in March with an October 1 start date, so offers and petitions need to be in place well before that window. JPMorganChase can use cap-exempt filings if you're transferring from a qualifying institution, which removes the lottery constraint. For E-3 and H-1B1 visas, there's no lottery, and USCIS processing with premium processing can run as little as two to three weeks, giving you more flexibility on start dates.
