Align your portfolio to Adobe's product data
Adobe evaluates Data Scientists on applied ML and experimentation work tied to real product outcomes. Build portfolio projects around customer analytics, A/B testing frameworks, or recommendation systems that mirror what Adobe Experience Cloud and Creative Cloud teams actually ship.
Target roles that match your visa type
Adobe sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT across data science roles, but not every role activates every pathway. Use Migrate Mate to filter open Data Scientist positions at Adobe by the visa type your situation requires before applying.
Document degree-to-role alignment early
H-1B specialty occupation approval depends on your degree field matching the role's duties. For Adobe data science positions, a degree in statistics, computer science, or a quantitative field maps cleanly. If your degree title is adjacent, gather documentation showing coursework overlap before USCIS reviews your petition.
Start OPT applications before your program ends
USCIS recommends filing the OPT EAD application up to 90 days before your program end date. Adobe data science hiring cycles often take 8 to 12 weeks, so beginning your OPT paperwork in parallel with your job search prevents a gap between your start date and work authorization.
Ask about LCA filing timelines during offers
Before accepting an offer, confirm when Adobe's legal team will file the Labor Condition Application with DOL. For H-1B transfers or new filings, the LCA must be certified before the I-129 is submitted, and delays here can push your actual start date by several weeks.
Prepare for PERM-stage qualification reviews
Adobe sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 green cards for data science roles, which requires PERM labor certification. The DOL will verify that your qualifications match the job description exactly as posted, so any mismatch between your resume and the role's minimum requirements can stall the process.

Find Data Scientist at Adobe JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Adobe sponsor H-1B visas for Data Scientists?
Yes, Adobe sponsors H-1B visas for Data Scientist roles. The process requires Adobe to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit an I-129 petition to USCIS on your behalf. If you're entering the H-1B cap for the first time, you'll need to be selected in the annual lottery, which opens in March for an October 1 start date. Transfers from an existing H-1B are not subject to the cap.
How do I apply for Data Scientist jobs at Adobe?
You can browse and apply for Data Scientist positions at Adobe directly through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can focus on positions that match your work authorization. Adobe's hiring process for data science roles typically includes a recruiter screen, technical assessments covering statistics and ML fundamentals, and several rounds of interviews with the data science and product teams.
Which visa types does Adobe commonly use for Data Scientist roles?
Adobe supports several visa categories for Data Scientists, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for current students, J-1 for exchange visitors, and immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for permanent residence. The right pathway depends on your nationality, education, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Adobe expect for Data Scientist roles?
Adobe data science roles typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Beyond credentials, Adobe looks for hands-on experience with experimentation at scale, proficiency in Python or R, and familiarity with large dataset workflows. Roles tied to Adobe Experience Cloud often also expect knowledge of marketing analytics or customer behavior modeling.
How do I think about timing when targeting Adobe for visa sponsorship?
Timing matters significantly depending on your visa type. F-1 OPT gives you up to 12 months of work authorization after graduation, extendable to 36 months with a STEM extension, so applying while OPT is active gives Adobe time to file an H-1B on your behalf. H-1B cap filings open in March each year, so any offer accepted before then can be petitioned in that cycle for an October 1 start date.
