Align your portfolio to Adobe's platform scale
Adobe's Architect roles emphasize distributed systems, multi-cloud environments, and API-driven product ecosystems. Frame your portfolio around architecture decisions at that scale, not just technical implementation, before you apply.
Target teams building Adobe Experience Platform
Adobe actively hires Architects across its Experience Cloud, Creative Cloud, and Document Cloud divisions. Identifying which product area aligns with your domain lets you tailor applications and speak directly to the team's architectural challenges.
Verify your visa category matches the role level
Adobe sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and immigrant visas, but the right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and role seniority. Confirm the specialty occupation requirement applies cleanly to your specific Architect title before accepting an offer.
Start OPT or CPT paperwork well before your start date
If you're transitioning from F-1 status, USCIS and your DSO require lead time. A delayed OPT card can push back your Adobe start date, so initiate the application at least 90 days before your intended first day.
Prepare for the PERM timeline if targeting permanent residence
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, Adobe must complete DOL's PERM labor certification before filing your immigrant petition. That process typically runs 12 to 18 months, so raise your long-term immigration goals during offer negotiations, not after.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Architect roles by visa type
Adobe posts Architect openings across multiple divisions and locations at any given time. Use Migrate Mate to filter those openings by the visa categories Adobe sponsors, so you focus your effort on roles where your status is already a fit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Adobe sponsor H-1B visas for Architects?
Yes, Adobe sponsors H-1B visas for Architect roles. Architect positions at Adobe typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, given the requirement for at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. If you're already on H-1B status with another employer, Adobe can file an H-1B transfer, letting you start work as soon as the petition is received by USCIS.
How do I apply for Architect jobs at Adobe?
Applications go through Adobe's careers portal, where Architect openings are listed by product area and location. The process typically involves a recruiter screen, technical architecture rounds assessing systems design and domain expertise, and a final loop with cross-functional stakeholders. Tailoring your application to the specific Adobe product division, such as Experience Cloud or Creative Cloud, improves your chances of reaching the technical rounds.
Which visa types does Adobe commonly use for Architect roles?
Adobe sponsors H-1B visas for the broadest pool of international Architects. Australian citizens are often sponsored on the E-3 visa, which carries no lottery and faster processing. Canadian and Mexican nationals may be sponsored on the TN visa under the USMCA professional category for engineers and computer science professionals. For F-1 graduates, Adobe supports both OPT and CPT, and for longer-term pathways, the company files EB-2 and EB-3 petitions through the PERM process.
What qualifications does Adobe expect for sponsored Architect positions?
Adobe's Architect roles generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 visa filings. Beyond the degree, Adobe looks for demonstrated experience designing distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, or enterprise-scale platforms. Proficiency in areas like microservices, event-driven architecture, or data platform design is consistently emphasized across job postings for this function.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an Adobe offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category and current status. An H-1B transfer for candidates already in H-1B status can allow a start date within weeks of USCIS receiving the petition. New H-1B cap filings require winning the annual lottery, which runs in March for an October 1 start, so timing your offer around the lottery cycle matters. E-3 and TN visas can often be processed at a U.S. consulate within a few weeks.
