Align your QA specialization to Broadcom's product lines
Broadcom's QA roles span semiconductor validation, networking hardware, and enterprise software like VMware. Tailor your resume to the specific division you're targeting, firmware validation experience reads very differently from SaaS QA automation work.
Document your degree's relevance to QA engineering
H-1B specialty occupation requires a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. For QA Engineer roles, degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, or software engineering are the strongest fit. Gather official transcripts and, if your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation done before applying.
Research which Broadcom entities file your visa type
Broadcom operates through multiple legal entities after its VMware acquisition. When reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosures, confirm which entity is listed as your petitioning employer, this affects your LCA prevailing wage level and the office handling your petition.
Time your application around Broadcom's hiring cycles
Broadcom tends to ramp QA hiring ahead of major product release cycles. Applying in Q1 positions you well for H-1B cap season, since USCIS begins accepting petitions April 1 and your employer needs time to prepare the I-129 filing after your offer is finalized.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open QA roles by sponsorship
Search Migrate Mate to find current Quality Assurance Engineer openings at Broadcom filtered by visa sponsorship type. This lets you identify which roles align with your status, whether you're on F-1 OPT, TN, or seeking H-1B transfer, before you invest time in the application.
Prepare for PERM if you're targeting permanent residence
Broadcom sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for QA Engineers, which requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL. The process can take one to two years before your I-140 is even filed, so raise your long-term sponsorship goals early in offer negotiations, not after you've accepted.

Find Quality Assurance Engineer at Broadcom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Broadcom sponsor H-1B visas for Quality Assurance Engineers?
Yes, Broadcom sponsors H-1B visas for Quality Assurance Engineers. QA engineering roles at Broadcom typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, given the degree requirements in fields like computer science or electrical engineering. Broadcom also supports H-1B transfers for candidates already holding valid H-1B status, which avoids the lottery entirely.
Which visa types does Broadcom commonly use for Quality Assurance Engineers?
Broadcom sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Quality Assurance Engineers, along with EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories for permanent residence. Canadian and Mexican nationals in QA roles may qualify for TN status under the USMCA professional worker list, which has no annual cap and can be faster to obtain than H-1B.
What qualifications does Broadcom expect for Quality Assurance Engineer roles?
Most QA Engineer roles at Broadcom require a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field. Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, hardware validation, or software QA pipelines is typically expected. For semiconductor-focused QA roles, familiarity with Verilog, SPICE simulation, or silicon bring-up testing is a strong differentiator.
How do I apply for Quality Assurance Engineer jobs at Broadcom?
You can browse and apply for Quality Assurance Engineer openings at Broadcom through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Broadcom's application process typically involves a recruiter screen, technical assessments focused on QA methodology and automation, and panel interviews with the engineering team.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Broadcom to file an H-1B for me?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration in early March each year, with the lottery run shortly after. If selected, your employer files the full I-129 petition by April 1, with an October 1 start date. You should have a signed offer and your I-129 documents prepared well before March. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS adjudication to roughly 15 business days.
