Does Calico Life Sciences sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Calico Life Sciences sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently. H-1B is their most commonly sponsored visa type, primarily for research and scientific roles. If you're targeting a specialty occupation in life sciences or computational biology, Calico represents a genuine sponsorship opportunity worth pursuing.
Which visa types does Calico Life Sciences sponsor?
Calico sponsors a range of visa categories including H-1B, H-1B1, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT. This breadth makes them accessible to international candidates at different career and immigration stages, from students on practical training to professionals seeking long-term work authorization in the United States.
Which roles or departments at Calico Life Sciences are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Calico is strongest in scientific and research functions, including roles in computational biology, biochemistry, data science, and aging research. The company's core mission is biological research, so most sponsored positions sit within R&D. Engineering and software roles supporting research infrastructure may also qualify depending on the specific position.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Calico Life Sciences?
Calico posts openings through their careers page, but verifying which roles include sponsorship support isn't always straightforward. Migrate Mate lists Calico as a confirmed sponsor and lets you browse their open roles filtered by sponsorship history, so you can apply with confidence rather than guessing from a generic job listing.
How do I time my application to Calico Life Sciences if I'm on F-1 OPT?
Start the process as early as possible. Calico actively supports F-1 OPT and CPT, which means they're familiar with the timeline constraints students face. Engaging with their recruiting team well before your OPT expires gives both sides enough time to assess fit and, if there's a match, initiate H-1B sponsorship ahead of the next filing window.
