The Role
This role mainly supports the Production area while collaborating with all other departments at the plant. This person will have a high impact on creating/reviving standards and training all employees to those standards. This will enhance the plant’s culture of safety, efficiency and quality by identifying best practices and coaching teams to correctly and consistently follow those practices.
Responsibilities
- Coaches the associates towards achieving an accident-free worksite while maintaining status as the preferred supplier of quality products and service with a goal of world class yield, availability, and reliability
- Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels
- Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforces plant rules and safety regulations, counsels employees and supports VMVO and WCM initiatives
- Facilitates the training and development of technicians on the critical functions of their jobs to include training them on product quality standards, reporting of shift performance, troubleshooting, and making proper adjustments to the process
- Accountable for fostering a safe work culture. Must recognize unsafe conditions and practices and quickly address them to prevent injuries and property loss
- Conducts safety audits, investigations, and job safety analysis on a regular basis
- Make rounds multiple times per shift, engaging associates using the Area Improvement Boards to continually drive both daily activities and continuous improvement
- Responsible for accurate production reporting in GXO and shift hand-over reports
- Responsible for updating Kronos on a shifty basis to ensure accurate time keeping for subordinates
- Works with other supervisors for basic shift scheduling and coverage issues
- Works directly with maintenance front-line leaders to address problems online
- Enters maintenance work notifications in SAP
Requirements
- Two (2) years of post-high school education
- Five (5) years of manufacturing/industrial/technical experience, or a minimum of four (4) years of military experience, or two (2) years of experience teaching, leading, or coaching
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team
- Previous experience in high performance teams or self-directed teams in a production environment
- Preferred previous work experience in Lean principles or World Class Manufacturing
Certain states require pay information to be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $81,500-$126,500 per year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $89,650 - $139,150.
