Align your credentials with U.S. banking standards
City National Bank hires Banking Managers with backgrounds in commercial or private banking, so frame your international experience around client portfolio management, team leadership, and regulatory compliance. FINRA licenses like Series 6 or 63 strengthen your profile significantly.
Target branches serving commercial and private clients
City National Bank's sponsorship activity for Banking Managers tends to cluster around locations serving business banking and wealth management clients. Research which markets those concentrations are in and direct your applications there rather than applying broadly.
Prepare your LCA documentation proactively
For H-1B sponsorship, the DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before USCIS can process your petition. Ask your prospective employer to initiate the LCA as soon as an offer is extended, since DOL processing typically takes seven to ten business days.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Banking Manager roles
Banking Manager openings at City National Bank that include visa sponsorship aren't always flagged clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to surface and track roles at City National Bank that are open to sponsored candidates, so you're applying to the right postings.
Address PERM timing if you're targeting a Green Card
If long-term permanent residence is your goal, ask during negotiations whether City National Bank initiates EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship for Banking Managers. PERM labor certification through DOL can take 12 to 18 months, so earlier conversations mean fewer gaps later.

Find Banking Manager at City National Bank JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does City National Bank sponsor H-1B visas for Banking Managers?
Yes, City National Bank sponsors H-1B visas for Banking Manager roles. The H-1B is the most common path for degree-qualified candidates in specialty occupations, and banking management typically qualifies. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap with an April filing window, you'll need an offer in place well before that deadline to be included in the lottery.
How do I apply for Banking Manager jobs at City National Bank?
Applications go through City National Bank's careers portal on their website. Roles are posted by location and business line, so filtering by branch type helps narrow results. Migrate Mate is a useful starting point to identify which Banking Manager postings at City National Bank are open to visa-sponsored candidates before you apply directly.
Which visa types does City National Bank commonly use for Banking Manager roles?
City National Bank sponsors a range of visa categories for Banking Managers, including H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The right path depends on your nationality, education level, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications does City National Bank expect for Banking Manager candidates?
City National Bank's Banking Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, along with experience managing client relationships or banking teams. Given the bank's focus on commercial and private banking, candidates with backgrounds in business banking, portfolio oversight, or branch operations are well positioned. Relevant licenses such as FINRA Series 6 or 63 can strengthen your application.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Banking Manager role at City National Bank?
Timeline depends on the visa type. F-1 OPT can begin immediately if your authorization is current. H-1B sponsorship requires filing in April for an October start date, making the effective wait up to six months from offer. TN status for Canadian or Mexican nationals can often be obtained at a port of entry within days. EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically takes one to three years from initiation.
