Does Claremont McKenna College sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Claremont McKenna College sponsors H-1B visas. Sponsorship is selective and concentrated in faculty, research, and specialized academic staff roles. The college operates as a cap-exempt employer given its status as a nonprofit higher education institution, which means H-1B petitions can be filed at any time of year without being subject to the annual lottery.
What visa types does Claremont McKenna College sponsor?
Claremont McKenna College sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying specialty occupation roles, along with F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students and recent graduates. TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals are also supported. Green Card sponsorship is not a consistent part of the college's immigration program based on available filing data.
Which departments or roles at Claremont McKenna College are most likely to sponsor visas?
Visa sponsorship at Claremont McKenna tends to be concentrated in academic departments hiring faculty, lecturers, and postdoctoral researchers. Roles in economics, government, international relations, and the sciences align well with the college's academic mission and are areas where specialized expertise often necessitates sponsorship for the most qualified candidates.
How do I time my application to Claremont McKenna College as an international candidate?
Academic institutions follow a structured hiring cycle. Faculty and research positions typically open in September through December for roles beginning the following academic year. Because cap-exempt H-1B filings can be submitted year-round, there is no lottery deadline to worry about, but building in several months for the petition process after an offer is made is advisable.
How do I find open visa-sponsored positions at Claremont McKenna College?
The most reliable approach is to search directly on platforms that verify sponsorship history rather than relying on job listings that may not disclose immigration support. Migrate Mate lists Claremont McKenna College as a verified sponsor, allowing you to filter for open roles at the college and confirm which visa types are supported before you apply.
