About us
Codeword is a communication agency that helps brands create breakthrough comms, content, and community experiences. We’re a fast-moving team of writers, editors, designers, strategists, videographers, PR mavens, and even a few traditional marketers. Our incredible roster of global brands trust us to launch their startups, run multi-channel campaigns, grow their user bases, and lead comprehensive PR and marketing initiatives. We're storytellers and brand engineers, and we love big ideas that serve a real purpose. Codeword is a remote-first agency, with physical offices in NYC and SF that we won’t make you visit.
About You
- 7+ years of marketing data analysis, statistical, or marketing research experience.
- You’re adept at turning numbers and stats into actionable business recommendations.
- You have hands-on experience measuring and analyzing SEO, GEO, paid media, influencer campaigns, and earned media. And you understand how these channels talk to each other.
- You are an Excel wizard, and you are experienced with AI tools to streamline data cleaning and insight generation.
- You are a proactive thinker, not just an executor. You go beyond answering the question, to anticipate the next question and provide the strategic direction to answer it.
- You are a multitasker who can juggle projects and deadlines without dropping the ball.
- You are a quick learner who gets excited by change (new platforms, new metrics, new tools), and you are comfortable suggesting changes to improve our internal processes.
About This Role
The Senior Analyst will report to Senior I&A Lead Siqi Jiang (who’s incredible), and will be handling the reporting, conversation scanning, and insights communication for Codeword clients, including a major retail brand.
You won’t just be pulling numbers. You’ll be developing business insights and working alongside an inspirational team of analysts, strategists, writers, designers, and PR professionals. We are looking for someone to help us streamline how we work, utilizing AI and advanced data practices to make us smarter and stronger. Unlike most agencies, we don’t have a hard line between our analysts and strategists, and we pride ourselves on our ability to execute in a wide range of creative disciplines. So if you like to mix it up, great!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading client measurement, including recommendations on success metrics and in-campaign tracking against client goals
- Supporting internal research needs for strategy development
- Setting up and monitoring social and media conversations, and delivering regular insights reports to keep our team and client informed and proactive
- Steering client and internal communications on campaign learnings and next steps
- Contributing to Codeword’s new business proposals, and incorporating category insights into Codeword RFP presentations
- Collaborating on department POVs and best practices spanning analytics and research for internal and external audiences
Your Compensation
People – that’s you! – are the heart of our business, and we believe in pay transparency. Our budget for this role is $85K – $110K depending on experience.
Codeword Benefits
- Flexible work hours
- Minimum 20 days paid vacation annually
- 401k + financial wellness support
- Health Insurance (medical, dental, life, pet, mental health services)
- Home office allowance
- Bi-annual Wellness Credits
- Monthly Technology Credit (to offset internet / phone costs)

A Few More Things You Should Know About Codeword
- The Codeword dream: Make good money doing work you care about with people you like.
- We love our clients (they write the checks!), which means maintaining a high bar for the creativity, smarts, responsiveness, and communication skills we offer them.
- We’re around 100 people, big enough to handle large-scale marketing programs, small enough that you’ll have an impact on our culture.
- We’re a friendly team, we look after each other, and we grow our careers together.
- We respect everyone’s personal life. After-hours emails are strongly frowned upon, night and weekend work is very rare, and employees are encouraged to pursue their side-hustles.
- We’re all grownups here, and we trust each other to get the work done, whether at home or in an office or a time zone on the other side of the world.
- We believe in defaulting to openness. Our calendars, our salary tiers, and our doors are open for all to see. (Except for secret client stuff, which we guard with our lives.)
- We’re a proud member of the global WE Communications family.
Equal Opportunity: Codeword provides equal employment opportunity and doesn’t discriminate against employees or applicants because of age, race, color, religion, gender, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, or other legally protected class status.
Diversity and Inclusion: Codeword works hard to foster a diverse team and an inclusive workplace where everyone thrives.
We aren’t a traditional agency, so we like to hire people who don’t necessarily fit the agency mold or check all the “right” boxes. If you’re on the fence about applying, please do!

Target roles that require specialized creative or technical skills
Codeword tends to sponsor visa candidates for roles where specialized expertise is the differentiator. Focus your application on positions in content strategy, copywriting, or creative production where your background is demonstrably niche and hard to fill domestically.
Understand that H-1B is the primary sponsorship pathway
Codeword's sponsorship history is centered on the H-1B visa. If you're targeting this agency, make sure your role qualifies as a specialty occupation and that your degree aligns directly with the position you're applying for.
Lead with your creative portfolio, not just your visa situation
Marketing and advertising agencies hire for creative output first. Present a strong, relevant portfolio upfront so sponsorship becomes a secondary conversation, agencies are more willing to navigate H-1B logistics for candidates who've already proven their value.
Research Codeword's client base and content focus before applying
Codeword works in content marketing for major technology brands. Tailoring your application to show familiarity with B2B content strategy or tech-focused storytelling signals genuine fit and reduces the perceived risk of sponsoring an international hire.
Apply early relative to the H-1B filing window
H-1B petitions are filed in April for an October start date. If you're targeting Codeword, aim to have your offer secured by late January or February to give the agency enough time to prepare the petition and work with immigration counsel.
Use a platform that filters by verified sponsorship history
Not every marketing agency openly advertises whether they sponsor visas. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving you from applying to agencies that won't engage with international candidates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Codeword sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Codeword sponsors H-1B visas. The agency has filed H-1B petitions for skilled professionals in the marketing and advertising space, making it a viable target for international candidates in creative and content-focused roles. While it is not among the highest-volume sponsors in its sector, its track record shows a genuine willingness to sponsor qualified candidates.
What types of roles at Codeword are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Codeword has historically supported roles in content creation, creative strategy, and related marketing disciplines. Positions that require a specific degree field and specialized expertise, such as content strategists, copywriters with a defined technical focus, or creative leads, are the strongest candidates for H-1B sponsorship, as they more clearly meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I assess Codeword's sponsorship commitment before applying?
Codeword has sponsored H-1B visas, which signals that its HR and legal infrastructure can support the process. That said, sponsorship decisions are made case by case. The most practical approach is to confirm sponsorship eligibility early in the recruiter conversation, ideally framing it around your specific role and degree alignment rather than asking about general policy.
How do I find open roles at Codeword that are open to visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists jobs from verified H-1B sponsors, including companies in the marketing and advertising space like Codeword. You can filter by sponsorship type and industry to surface roles where international candidates are actively considered, rather than applying speculatively to agencies whose sponsorship history is unclear.
What should I expect from the H-1B sponsorship timeline if Codeword extends an offer?
Once Codeword extends an offer, the sponsorship process typically involves a Labor Condition Application filed with the Department of Labor, followed by the H-1B petition submitted to USCIS during the April filing window. Standard processing takes several months, with an October 1 start date. Premium processing is available for faster adjudication if your start date is time-sensitive.
