About the Role:
As an AI-forward Full Stack Product Manager at Crunchbase, you will accelerate how we apply AI, automation, and connected systems across the company. This role sits within the Product organization and focuses on building and evolving internal AI-powered applications that increase operational velocity, reduce manual work, and improve how teams execute. You will identify friction across workflows, redesign brittle processes, and ship practical solutions that meaningfully improve how work gets done. This is not a strategy-only role. You will operate as a builder. You will rapidly design, prototype, and launch internal AI-driven tools. You will not “own” every system, but you will modernize, connect, and evolve them so they work better together and materially reduce operational drag. This role is about applied AI, system-level thinking, and execution at speed.
- Identify and Eliminate Operational Friction:
- Identify manual, repetitive, or brittle workflows across the organization
- Redesign processes using AI, automation, and system-level improvements
- Reduce low-leverage work to create space for higher-value thinking
- Improve interoperability, reliability, and observability across internal systems
- Build and Ship Internal AI Applications:
- Rapidly design, prototype, and launch AI-driven internal applications
- Turn rough ideas into working solutions that can be tested and validated quickly
- Use lightweight, iterative development approaches to accelerate time-to-value
-
Continuously refine and improve tools based on real-world usage and feedback
-
Drive Practical AI Adoption:
- Push the organization toward applied, usable AI — not experimentation for its own sake
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies for pragmatic internal use cases
- Help teams rethink how work gets done in an AI-enabled operating model
-
Ensure AI implementations drive measurable efficiency, speed, or quality improvements
-
Partner Across the Business:
- Work directly with business leaders to understand operational pain points
- Translate ambiguous needs into structured product and technical solutions
- Operate comfortably across Product, Engineering, and business functions
- Align solutions with company-wide goals and measurable outcomes
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, or a related technical builder role
- Experience building or implementing AI-powered applications, automation workflows, or internal systems
- Demonstrated experience operating at the intersection of business and engineering
- Track record of rapidly prototyping and launching practical solutions that improve operational efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong technical foundation in AI, internal systems, automation, and modern tooling
- Ability to design, prototype, and ship working AI-driven solutions independently
- Systems thinker who understands both technical architecture and human workflow design
- Comfortable navigating and improving existing tools without rigid definitions or guardrails
- Builder mindset — prototypes quickly, iterates frequently, and ships practical solutions
- Operates effectively in ambiguity and proactively identifies inefficiencies others overlook
- Action-oriented with a strong bias toward execution and measurable outcomes
- Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured product and technical solutions
- Comfortable working across Product, Engineering, and business functions
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated curiosity and fluency in emerging AI tools and capabilities

Align your portfolio with data platform work
Crunchbase's engineering work centers on large-scale data ingestion, APIs, and search infrastructure. Tailor your GitHub projects and resume to show experience with these systems before you apply, since generic full-stack portfolios rarely stand out here.
Ask about PERM sponsorship during the offer stage
Crunchbase sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which require a DOL PERM labor certification that typically takes one to two years before an I-140 petition can be filed. Clarify the company's internal timeline for initiating PERM so you can plan your long-term status strategy.
Target roles that match your TN occupation category
TN status requires your job title and duties to fall within a NAFTA-defined occupation list. Software Engineer roles at Crunchbase can qualify under the Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer categories, but confirm the offer letter reflects the correct title before accepting.
Search Crunchbase openings directly on Migrate Mate
Filter Software Engineer roles at Crunchbase by visa type on Migrate Mate to surface positions that match your specific authorization. This saves time compared to manually screening job boards where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront.
Flag CPT authorization early if you are still enrolled
If you plan to start as a curricular practical training student, your university must authorize CPT before your start date. Crunchbase's recruiting team needs this confirmation in writing, so loop in your DSO as soon as you receive a conditional offer.

Find Software Engineer at Crunchbase JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Crunchbase sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Crunchbase has sponsored work visas for Software Engineers, though H-1B sponsorship depends on the specific role, your current status, and timing relative to the annual cap and lottery. If you're transitioning off F-1 OPT, you'd need Crunchbase to file an H-1B cap petition by the April 1 deadline for an October 1 start. Confirming sponsorship intent during the offer stage is essential before resigning from any current position.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Crunchbase?
Applications go through Crunchbase's careers page, where roles are listed by team and seniority level. You can also browse current openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which makes it straightforward to identify positions where sponsorship is available. Tailor your resume to Crunchbase's data and API engineering focus, and be prepared for a technical screen followed by system design and coding rounds.
Which visa types does Crunchbase support for Software Engineer roles?
Crunchbase supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations, and employer-sponsored permanent residence through the EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories. Each pathway has different timelines and filing requirements, so the right option depends on your nationality, degree field, and how long you've been authorized to work in the United States.
What qualifications does Crunchbase expect from Software Engineer applicants?
Crunchbase generally looks for engineers with experience in backend systems, data pipelines, or API development, given that its core product is a business intelligence and company data platform. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for visa purposes. Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing, search infrastructure, or SaaS architecture is more likely to advance your application than generalist experience.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Software Engineer at Crunchbase?
Timeline depends on the visa type. F-1 CPT authorization through your university can take one to two weeks. H-1B cap petitions must be filed by April 1 with employment starting no earlier than October 1, meaning a gap of up to six months if you're transitioning from OPT. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through DOL typically takes one to two years before USCIS can adjudicate the I-140 petition. Starting these conversations during offer negotiations gives both sides time to plan.
