The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $134,500 to $265,100.

Align Your Portfolio to Client-Facing Deliverables
Deloitte's Cloud Data Engineer roles center on client delivery, not internal tooling. Frame your experience around migrating or building data pipelines on AWS, Azure, or GCP in a consulting or professional services context, not just internal engineering work.
Target Practices That Match Your Cloud Stack
Deloitte organizes hiring by practice area. Roles tied to Deloitte's Government and Public Services practice often have different clearance expectations than commercial consulting roles, so filter by practice when browsing open positions on Migrate Mate.
Confirm Sponsorship Before Your First Round
Some Deloitte requisitions list preferred qualifications that implicitly assume U.S. work authorization. Email the recruiter directly before your first screen to confirm the specific role has sponsorship approved, not just that Deloitte sponsors in general.
Understand How the LCA Wage Level Affects Your Offer
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before any H-1B or E-3 petition. The wage level assigned, typically Level II or III for Cloud Data Engineer roles, sets a floor on your offer and can affect compensation negotiations.
Prepare Specialty Occupation Documentation Early
USCIS scrutinizes consulting firm H-1B petitions more than most. Gather transcripts, degree certificates, and any credential evaluations now. If your degree is in a tangential field like information systems rather than computer science, a course-by-course evaluation strengthens your petition significantly.
Account for Green Card Timeline in Your Offer Negotiation
Deloitte sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 green cards, but PERM labor certification adds time before your priority date is even established. If you're Indian or Chinese-born, discuss the immigrant visa pathway timeline with your attorney before accepting an offer, not after.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Cloud Data Engineers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Cloud Data Engineer roles. Because Deloitte operates as a consulting firm, USCIS applies heightened scrutiny to its H-1B petitions, particularly around specialty occupation qualification. Having a degree in a directly related field, such as computer science, data engineering, or information systems, and documentation tying your coursework to the role strengthens the petition considerably.
How do I apply for Cloud Data Engineer jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal. Before applying, confirm the specific requisition supports visa sponsorship, as not every open role does. Tailor your resume to reflect client-facing cloud data work and name the specific platforms in the job description. Deloitte's recruiting process typically involves a recruiter screen, technical assessment, and multiple interview rounds with practice leaders.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for Cloud Data Engineers?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for Cloud Data Engineers depending on your nationality. Australians are eligible for the E-3, which has no lottery and can move faster than the H-1B. For permanent residence, Deloitte files EB-2 and EB-3 petitions through PERM labor certification once you've been employed for a qualifying period.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Cloud Data Engineer roles?
Most Cloud Data Engineer roles at Deloitte require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field, along with hands-on experience building data pipelines on at least one major cloud platform. Proficiency in tools like Apache Spark, dbt, or Databricks is common in job descriptions, and consulting experience or client-facing project work is weighted heavily alongside technical skills.
How do I find Cloud Data Engineer roles at Deloitte that offer visa sponsorship?
Job listings don't always flag sponsorship clearly, which makes filtering difficult on general job boards. Migrate Mate aggregates Cloud Data Engineer openings at Deloitte and surfaces roles where sponsorship is available, so you're not manually screening dozens of postings. Once you find a role, still confirm sponsorship with the recruiter before investing time in the application process.
