Align your credentials with CPA licensing requirements
Deloitte's Tax Consultant roles almost universally require or expect CPA eligibility. Before applying, confirm your foreign degree meets your target state's 150-credit-hour rule, as this directly affects both your hire timeline and your LCA wage classification.
Target Deloitte's campus recruiting cycle strategically
Deloitte fills the majority of Tax Consultant roles through its fall campus recruiting cycle. Applying directly through that pipeline, rather than off-cycle, puts you in front of the teams most prepared to initiate sponsorship for incoming class hires.
Understand how H-1B cap timing affects your start date
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS's April lottery and October 1 start date will govern when you can begin. Coordinate with Deloitte's HR team early so your offer letter reflects a realistic start date built around this federal timeline.
Demonstrate specialization in a high-demand tax practice area
Deloitte's tax practice spans transfer pricing, international tax, and M&A advisory. Candidates who can speak to one of these areas specifically, not just general corporate tax, move faster through the process and are more likely to secure roles where sponsorship is already expected.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Tax Consultant roles at Deloitte
Filtering by visa type and employer is faster than scanning general job boards. Migrate Mate lets you search Tax Consultant openings at Deloitte filtered by the sponsorship types you qualify for, so you spend time on applications that match your immigration situation.

Find Tax Consultant at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Consultants?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Consultants and has a well-established process for doing so. Because Deloitte hires large classes of Tax Consultants annually, its HR and immigration teams are experienced with the H-1B cap lottery, premium processing, and the LCA filing that DOL requires before USCIS can approve the petition. If you need a cap-subject H-1B, timing your start date around the October 1 federal start date is essential.
Which visa types does Deloitte sponsor for Tax Consultant roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and employment-based Green Cards, including EB-2 and EB-3, for Tax Consultants. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals, while E-3 is exclusive to Australian citizens. Both the H-1B1 and E-3 bypass the H-1B lottery, which can significantly simplify the sponsorship timeline for eligible candidates.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Tax Consultant roles requiring sponsorship?
Deloitte typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field, with CPA eligibility being a strong expectation. For international candidates, this means confirming your foreign degree meets the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines and satisfies the credit-hour requirements for your target state's CPA board. Relevant internship experience in tax, particularly in public accounting, strengthens your candidacy considerably.
How do I apply for Tax Consultant jobs at Deloitte?
The most direct path is through Deloitte's campus recruiting program during the fall recruiting season, which is when most Tax Consultant class hires are made. You can also apply through Deloitte's careers portal for off-cycle openings. To find current Tax Consultant roles at Deloitte filtered by the visa type you qualify for, Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point before going directly to Deloitte's application process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take once Deloitte extends an offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. For E-3 and H-1B1, the employer files an LCA with DOL, which takes 7 business days under standard processing, followed by a consular interview in your home country. For cap-subject H-1B, the process starts with the April lottery, and the earliest you can begin work is October 1. USCIS premium processing, which Deloitte can elect, reduces adjudication to 15 business days but doesn't move the October 1 start date for new cap cases.
