Align your credentials with CPA licensing requirements
CrossCountry recruits Tax Consultants who are CPA-eligible or already licensed. Before applying, confirm your foreign degree meets your target state's educational requirements, since some states accept three-year bachelor's degrees and others don't.
Target CrossCountry's federal tax advisory practice
CrossCountry's tax work spans government and commercial clients, but federal tax advisory roles have historically driven consulting headcount. Positioning your resume around government-adjacent tax compliance or regulatory work increases your relevance to their active hiring tracks.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Tax Consultant openings
CrossCountry posts Tax Consultant roles across multiple locations and service lines. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for openings where the firm has confirmed visa sponsorship, so you're not applying blind to positions that won't move forward.
Understand how OPT cap-gap affects your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT and CrossCountry files your H-1B petition before April 1, cap-gap protection extends your work authorization through September 30. Coordinate your offer timeline with their HR team so your start date doesn't create a gap in status.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the H-1B filing window
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS receives your H-1B petition. Have your official transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations, and employment verification letters ready before February so CrossCountry's immigration counsel isn't waiting on you.

Find Tax Consultant at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Consultants?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Consultant roles. The firm works with immigration counsel to file petitions during the annual USCIS cap season, which opens in April for an October 1 start date. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, CrossCountry can file an H-1B transfer, which isn't subject to the cap and can take effect much sooner.
How do I apply for Tax Consultant jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
Applications go through CrossCountry's careers portal, where Tax Consultant roles are listed by service line and location. You can also browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters CrossCountry postings specifically for candidates who need work visa support. Tailor your resume to highlight tax compliance, advisory, or regulatory work relevant to their client base before submitting.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting use for Tax Consultant roles?
CrossCountry sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Tax Consultant positions. E-3 applies exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA. F-1 OPT is typically used as a bridge before an H-1B petition is filed.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for Tax Consultant roles?
Most Tax Consultant openings at CrossCountry require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, plus progress toward or completion of CPA licensure. Hands-on experience with federal or state tax compliance, exposure to Big Four or national firm environments, and familiarity with tax software platforms like OneSource or GoSystem strengthen your candidacy significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Tax Consultant offer at CrossCountry?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN and E-3 can be processed in weeks once the offer is confirmed. H-1B cap petitions follow a fixed USCIS calendar: registration in March, lottery in April, petition filing through June, and an October 1 start date. Premium processing reduces the adjudication window to 15 business days but doesn't change the registration or lottery schedule.
