Frame your credentials around consulting contexts
CrossCountry values BD professionals who can articulate pipeline development and client acquisition in professional services settings. Before applying, reframe your resume around accounting, audit, or advisory client growth outcomes rather than general sales metrics.
Target open roles aligned with your visa timeline
CrossCountry posts Business Development roles across multiple practice areas. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your employment start date fits within your authorization window before submitting, since consulting firms move quickly from offer to onboarding.
Clarify sponsorship intent before your final interview round
CrossCountry has sponsored H-1B and E-3 candidates for BD roles, but not every hiring manager knows the process well. Raise your visa requirements with the recruiter, not the partner, so the right internal stakeholders are looped in early.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term planning
If you're targeting a Green Card through an EB-2 or EB-3 pathway, ask whether CrossCountry initiates PERM during your first year. DOL PERM timelines run 12 to 24 months, so early alignment with HR protects your long-term status.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open BD roles by sponsorship type
CrossCountry's 100-plus open Business Development Professional positions span different practice groups with different sponsorship histories. Use Migrate Mate to filter by visa type so you're targeting roles where your specific sponsorship category has been used before.
Prepare a specialty occupation narrative for H-1B filing
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for BD roles because the title can appear generalist. Work with your attorney to document that your position requires a specific bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field and ties directly to CrossCountry's technical advisory services.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Professionals?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development Professionals. Because BD roles can face USCIS scrutiny as specialty occupations, the sponsorship process typically requires clear documentation that the position demands a specific bachelor's degree and relates directly to CrossCountry's accounting or advisory service lines. Connecting with the recruiter early about your H-1B status helps ensure the right internal approvals are in place before an offer is extended.
How do I apply for Business Development Professional jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can browse and apply for Business Development Professional positions at CrossCountry Consulting through Migrate Mate, which surfaces open roles filtered by visa sponsorship type. CrossCountry posts BD openings across multiple practice areas, so filtering by your specific visa category helps you identify the most relevant positions. Once you've identified a fit, apply directly and flag your visa requirements to the recruiter at the first conversation, not after an offer.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly sponsor for Business Development Professional roles?
CrossCountry Consulting has sponsored Business Development Professionals on H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways. E-3 visa is available to Australian citizens and offers a faster, cap-exempt alternative to H-1B. TN visa covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business roles. F-1 OPT allows recent graduates to work while a longer-term sponsorship petition is prepared. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and how urgently you need authorization.
What qualifications and experience does CrossCountry Consulting expect for Business Development Professional roles?
CrossCountry typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field, along with experience in professional services or consulting environments. BD roles at the firm are tied to practice-specific growth, so familiarity with accounting, audit, or advisory client cycles strengthens your candidacy. Client-facing experience, pipeline management, and the ability to collaborate with technical delivery teams are consistently valued across the firm's BD hiring.
How do I plan my timeline if CrossCountry Consulting is sponsoring my H-1B for a Business Development role?
The H-1B cap lottery runs once per year, with registrations typically opening in March for an October 1 start date. If you're selected, USCIS standard processing takes three to five months, though premium processing reduces that to 15 business days. Because BD roles sometimes attract requests for evidence from USCIS around specialty occupation standards, build extra buffer into your timeline and confirm with CrossCountry's HR team whether they file premium processing as a default.
