Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
ZS evaluates Business Development roles against USCIS specialty occupation criteria, meaning your degree field needs to connect directly to the client-facing, analytically driven work. A business, economics, or life sciences degree strengthens that link considerably.
Target ZS's industry verticals in your application
ZS structures its business development function around healthcare and pharmaceutical clients. Framing your experience around these verticals, rather than general sales or consulting, signals fit and reduces back-and-forth during internal role qualification.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
ZS posts Business Development Professional openings across multiple locations and seniority levels. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles that match your visa category so you're not applying to positions the office won't sponsor.
Clarify OPT and CPT eligibility before your first interview
If you're on F-1 status, confirm whether the role qualifies under STEM OPT extension rules before accepting a screening call. ZS sponsors both OPT and CPT, but the position must meet DOL's specialty occupation threshold for the extension to apply.
Ask about LCA timing relative to your offer letter
ZS's HR and immigration team files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Knowing this sequence helps you ask the right questions about your start date and whether the timeline accommodates your current status expiration.

Find Business Development Professional at ZS Associates JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ZS Associates sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Professionals?
Yes, ZS Associates sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Professional roles. The company has a consistent track record of supporting work authorization across this function, including cap-subject H-1B filings and H-1B1 petitions for eligible nationalities. Sponsorship support typically includes legal coordination with an immigration team, though timelines depend on your current status and the annual USCIS lottery cycle.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development Professional roles at ZS Associates?
ZS Associates sponsors a range of visa categories for Business Development Professionals, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican citizens, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways are also supported for longer-term employees, typically after an initial period on a nonimmigrant visa.
How do I apply for Business Development Professional jobs at ZS Associates?
Applications go through ZS Associates' careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and location. Before applying, browse open Business Development Professional positions on Migrate Mate to identify which listings align with your visa type and target market. ZS typically screens for industry knowledge in healthcare or pharma, quantitative problem-solving skills, and client-facing experience during its interview process.
What qualifications and experience does ZS Associates expect for Business Development Professional roles?
ZS looks for candidates with a bachelor's or advanced degree in business, life sciences, economics, or a related field. Relevant experience in consultative sales, account management, or strategy roles within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medtech sectors is valued. Strong analytical capability and the ability to translate data into client-facing narratives are common differentiators at the interview stage.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at ZS Associates?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. If you're on F-1 OPT, you'll need enough remaining authorization to bridge the gap. ZS's immigration team typically initiates the Labor Condition Application with DOL several weeks before the USCIS filing window opens, so confirming your target start date with your recruiter early in the offer process is essential.
