Align Your CPA Progress With Applications
CrossCountry values CPA credentials heavily for Accountant roles. If you're still completing exam sections, be upfront about your timeline. Candidates actively pursuing licensure are viewed more favorably than those who haven't started, especially for client-facing advisory work.
Target Roles Matching Your Visa Category
E-3 and TN applicants can move faster than H-1B candidates since neither requires a lottery. Focus your applications on Accountant openings that specify immediate availability, where your visa category's shorter processing timeline is a genuine competitive advantage.
Find Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
CrossCountry Consulting posts Accountant openings across practice areas and locations. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at CrossCountry that match your visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Clarify LCA Scope Before Signing
CrossCountry's consulting model means you'll often work at client sites, not just a fixed office. Before accepting an offer, confirm your Labor Condition Application covers all expected work locations. DOL requires a separate LCA or amendment for worksites added after filing.
Prepare Client-Facing Experience for Interviews
CrossCountry Accountant roles are largely advisory, meaning technical accounting knowledge alone isn't enough. Prepare examples of client deliverables, financial statement work, or regulatory compliance projects. Interviewers assess whether you can represent the firm directly with clients.
Confirm Green Card Sponsorship Intentions Early
If permanent residency is your goal, raise PERM sponsorship during the offer stage, not after you've started. CrossCountry sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 for qualifying Accountants, but timelines vary by role level and business need, so alignment early prevents mismatched expectations later.

Find Accountant at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for Accountant roles. The H-1B is the most common pathway for international candidates in accounting, since the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Keep in mind the H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, so timing your application to align with the April filing window is critical.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly use for Accountant roles?
CrossCountry sponsors several visa categories for Accountant positions, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT for recent graduates, and EB-2 or EB-3 for candidates pursuing permanent residency. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your career. E-3 and TN can be faster to process since they bypass the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for Accountant positions?
CrossCountry typically looks for a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated experience in financial reporting, audit support, or advisory work. CPA candidacy or licensure strengthens your application significantly. For mid-to-senior Accountant roles, client-facing experience and familiarity with regulatory frameworks like GAAP or IFRS are consistently valued across the firm's practice areas.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can browse and apply for Accountant openings at CrossCountry Consulting through Migrate Mate, which filters roles specifically by visa sponsorship availability so you can confirm the position supports your immigration status before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight technical accounting competencies and any client advisory experience, since CrossCountry's model centers on consulting engagements rather than internal finance roles.
How do I time my visa sponsorship process when targeting CrossCountry Consulting?
If you're pursuing an H-1B, CrossCountry would need to register you in the USCIS lottery in March for an October 1 start date. F-1 OPT candidates should apply well before their OPT expiration since cap-gap protection only applies if an H-1B petition is filed while OPT is still valid. E-3 and TN processing is faster and not cap-dependent, making those categories more flexible for mid-year hiring cycles.
