You’ll bring your first-hand experience, unique perspectives, and functional knowledge to deliver tailored integrated solutions that help our clients solve today’s challenges and set the foundation for future success. As an Associate Director at CrossCountry Consulting you will be responsible for a mix of client delivery, leading teams and developing junior team members, and participating in business development activities. In today’s competitive deal market, Private Equity is increasingly turning to operational enhancements as a driver for value creation in their investment portfolio. It is essential for Private Equity funds to have a portfolio support team, either internally or externally, to guide CFOs as they build scalable billing and revenue management capabilities that support the investment thesis. We are experienced operators who serve as an extension of leading Private Equity sponsors to drive meaningful and sustainable operational changes across their portfolios.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of usage-based and consumption billing models to support AI-era pricing strategies, including metered billing, tiered consumption, prepaid credit drawdown, and hybrid subscription-plus-usage structures.
Help companies operationalize ASC 606 / IFRS 15-compliant revenue recognition policies, including multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, stand-alone selling price (SSP) allocation, and contract modification accounting within their billing and ERP systems.
Lead cross-functional project teams (NetSuite consultants, billing platform specialists, Private Equity consultants, and client stakeholders) across billing, revenue, and financial reporting workstreams, while mentoring team members through coaching, feedback and annual performance reviews to resolve multi-faceted issues.
Design and implement integration architectures between billing platforms, CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot), ERP (NetSuite), CPQ tools, and data warehouses to create a seamless quote-to-revenue data flow.
Work with your project team to develop management reporting and analytics around key SaaS metrics, including ARR, MRR, net revenue retention, usage/consumption trends, and product-level profitability.
Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio company representatives and Private Equity sponsors, collaborating with CrossCountry team members to scope, clarify, and deliver excellent client service.
Actively participate in business development opportunities and market a full range of billing, revenue, and technology enablement services to prospective clients, including using existing relationships to generate new opportunities.
Guide customers through the change management process associated with billing system migrations and revenue recognition policy changes, providing resources and strategies to ensure a smooth and effective transition.

Frame your credentials around advisory-sector BD
CrossCountry hires BD Directors to win consulting engagements, not manage internal pipelines. Tailor your resume to show revenue generation in professional services, ideally accounting, audit, or finance advisory, before you apply.
Target roles already tagged for sponsorship
CrossCountry posts Business Development Director openings across multiple markets simultaneously. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for CrossCountry roles that are open to visa sponsorship, so you avoid applying to postings that won't move forward.
Address nonimmigrant intent early with the hiring team
Business Development Director roles involve long client relationship cycles. If you're on a temporary visa, prepare to explain how your status supports a multi-year commitment. Raising this before the final round prevents late-stage offer delays.
Verify LCA wage compliance for your target market
CrossCountry operates across high-cost metro areas. DOL prevailing wage levels for Business Development Directors vary significantly by location. Confirm the offered salary meets the LCA wage requirement for the specific office before countering or accepting.
Build a reference network inside accounting and auditing consulting
CrossCountry's BD hiring favors candidates with warm networks in the accounting advisory space. A referral from someone inside the firm or from a known client-side contact accelerates recruiter response and reduces the internal friction around sponsorship approvals.

Find Business Development Director at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Directors?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development Directors. Because this is a specialty occupation role requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher, it qualifies under USCIS H-1B criteria. Sponsorship is most common when a candidate has a strong track record in professional services business development and is already in the final stages of the hiring process.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly sponsor for Business Development Director roles?
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for Business Development Director positions. E-3 is available to Australian citizens only, and TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA. F-1 OPT candidates should confirm their OPT end date aligns with the expected hiring timeline.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for a Business Development Director?
CrossCountry typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, along with substantial experience winning consulting or advisory engagements. Familiarity with accounting, audit, or financial advisory services is a strong differentiator. Demonstrated ability to build client relationships and close multi-year professional services contracts matters more than industry-generic BD experience.
How do I apply for Business Development Director jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can browse current Business Development Director openings at CrossCountry Consulting on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to visa sponsorship. Apply directly through CrossCountry's careers portal after identifying the right opening. Tailor your application to highlight professional services revenue experience and be prepared to discuss your visa situation clearly during the first recruiter screen.
How do I plan the timeline for H-1B sponsorship at CrossCountry Consulting?
H-1B sponsorship at CrossCountry follows the standard USCIS annual lottery, which opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer needs to file before your OPT expires to maintain cap-gap protection. Plan to have an offer finalized by February at the latest, since the LCA must be certified by DOL before USCIS registration opens.
