Frame your life sciences experience precisely
Veeva's BD roles sit at the intersection of enterprise software and regulated industries like pharma and biotech. Tailor your resume to show domain fluency, not just sales achievement. Quota numbers matter less than your understanding of clinical or commercial workflows.
Target roles aligned with your visa category
Veeva sponsors multiple visa types, including H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT. If you're on OPT, apply early enough that an H-1B cap-subject petition can be filed before your OPT authorization expires. The cap lottery deadline is typically in March for an October start.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles efficiently
Veeva posts Business Development Director openings across multiple regions and product lines. Use Migrate Mate to filter for sponsored positions and track new listings so you're applying in the first days a role goes live, which matters at competitive employers.
Prepare a specialty occupation narrative early
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for BD roles because the specialty occupation standard requires a direct connection between a specific degree and the position. Work with your employer's immigration counsel to document how your technical background maps to Veeva's sales methodology before the petition is drafted.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Before signing, confirm whether Veeva's offer includes only initial H-1B filing or also covers premium processing, attorney fees, and future Green Card sponsorship through PERM. Costs and timelines for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship can vary significantly by team and seniority level.
Research Veeva's product lines before interviews
Veeva's BD organization is segmented by cloud product, customer segment, and geography. Applying to a Vault Clinical role requires different positioning than a Veeva CRM or Data Cloud opportunity. Demonstrating specific product and buyer knowledge signals you understand the commercial motion, not just software sales broadly.

Find Business Development Director at Veeva Systems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Veeva Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Directors?
Yes, Veeva Systems sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Director roles. The company has a consistent sponsorship history across its commercial and clinical product teams. If you're already on H-1B status with another employer, Veeva can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start working as soon as the transfer petition is received by USCIS.
How do I apply for Business Development Director jobs at Veeva Systems?
Apply directly through Veeva's careers portal, where roles are organized by product line and region. You can also browse and track open Business Development Director positions at Veeva that include visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which filters listings specifically for candidates who need work authorization. Tailor your application to the specific Veeva product and customer segment the role covers.
Which visa types does Veeva Systems commonly use for Business Development Director roles?
Veeva sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Business Development Directors, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates earlier in their career path. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. For longer-term sponsorship, Veeva has pursued Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 PERM labor certification for eligible employees.
What qualifications does Veeva Systems expect for Business Development Director candidates?
Veeva's BD Director roles typically require demonstrated success selling enterprise software, ideally into life sciences or healthcare accounts. A bachelor's degree in a business, science, or technical field is generally expected, and some roles specify direct experience with clinical, regulatory, or commercial pharma workflows. Prior experience with Salesforce, Veeva's own CRM platform, or comparable enterprise tools is frequently listed.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development Director at Veeva Systems?
Timeline depends on your current status. An H-1B transfer from another employer can be filed with USCIS and take effect upon receipt, often within a few weeks. A new cap-subject H-1B requires entering the April lottery and waiting until October 1 for work authorization. PERM labor certification for Green Card sponsorship typically takes one to two years before an I-140 petition can be filed.
