Frame Your Credentials Around Strategic Revenue Outcomes
Molex evaluates BD Directors on quantifiable commercial impact, not just relationship management. When preparing your resume and portfolio, lead with territory expansion, partnership wins, and revenue growth metrics that map directly to their Fashion & Apparel vertical.
Research Molex's Fashion Segment Before Outreach
Molex supplies connectors and components to wearables and smart apparel manufacturers. Knowing their specific product lines in this space lets you speak to customer acquisition opportunities their BD team actually owns, which differentiates you from generalist candidates.
Target Open Roles Across Multiple U.S. Locations
Molex posts Business Development Director roles across several U.S. offices. Applying to multiple locations increases your chances of landing a sponsoring hiring manager, since individual teams often have more influence over sponsorship decisions than central HR policies.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
Before signing, confirm whether Molex will cover both the H-1B filing and any PERM-based Green Card process for your role. BD Director positions can qualify for EB-2 sponsorship given degree and experience requirements, but you need explicit written confirmation in your offer.
Align Your OPT or TN Timeline with Molex's H-1B Filing Window
USCIS only accepts H-1B cap-subject petitions in early April for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, work backward from that window with your Molex recruiter so your authorization doesn't lapse before the petition is approved.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active BD Director Openings
Molex posts Business Development Director roles across multiple channels at different times. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Molex openings that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Directors?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Director roles. The company has an established pattern of filing work visa petitions across its business functions, including commercial and BD positions. To confirm sponsorship for a specific opening, ask directly during the recruiter screen, before the final interview stage.
How do I apply for Business Development Director jobs at Molex?
Apply through Molex's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which aggregates their visa-sponsoring openings in one place. When applying, tailor your materials to Molex's industry verticals, including Fashion & Apparel. Flag your visa sponsorship needs early in the process so the recruiter can confirm budget and timeline before advancing your candidacy.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Business Development Director hires?
Molex sponsors H-1B visas most commonly for this role, given the specialty occupation requirements tied to a BD Director position. They also support F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates transitioning from student status, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for longer-term hires who meet PERM eligibility requirements.
What qualifications does Molex expect for a sponsored Business Development Director?
Molex typically expects a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, along with substantial B2B sales or partnership development experience. For H-1B purposes, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, so your degree field and job duties need to align. Experience in manufacturing, electronics, or adjacent sectors like smart apparel strengthens your case significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Molex Business Development Director role?
For H-1B petitions, USCIS standard processing runs three to six months after the April filing window, with an October 1 employment start. Premium processing reduces the adjudication period to 15 business days but doesn't affect the start date for cap-subject cases. If Molex pursues a Green Card through PERM, that process typically adds one to three years depending on your priority date and country of birth.
