Align your portfolio with embedded systems work
Molex builds connectivity components for industrial and manufacturing environments, so product software roles often involve firmware, hardware abstraction layers, or real-time systems. Showcasing relevant projects in your resume and GitHub puts you ahead of generalist applicants.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting any offer
STEM OPT extensions require your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Verify Molex's enrollment status through the E-Verify employer search tool before you accept an offer, since enrollment is a hard requirement, not a formality.
Prepare for specialty occupation documentation early
For H-1B petitions, USCIS reviews whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a specific degree. Product Software Engineer positions at Molex typically align well, but gather your transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations, and any prior approval notices before your employer files.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Molex roles by visa type
Searching broadly across job boards makes it hard to confirm which postings actively support sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters Product Software Engineer openings at Molex by visa type, so you can focus your applications on roles that match your specific authorization status.
Ask recruiters about PERM timing during offer negotiation
If permanent residency is a long-term goal, ask whether Molex initiates PERM labor certification for Product Software Engineers and at what tenure that process typically begins. DOL PERM processing currently runs 12 to 18 months before the I-140 petition stage, so starting this conversation early matters.

Find Product Software Engineer at Molex JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers. The company has a consistent pattern of supporting international hires in technical roles, and Product Software Engineer positions typically satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements given the degree-specific nature of the work. Your employer files the H-1B petition on your behalf, so the conversation should happen during offer negotiation, not after signing.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Molex?
You can find and apply for Product Software Engineer openings at Molex through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to reflect software development in hardware-adjacent or manufacturing environments, since Molex's product lines center on connectivity and precision components rather than consumer software.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Product Software Engineer roles?
Molex sponsors a range of visa categories for Product Software Engineers, including H-1B for degree-holding professionals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or computer science roles, J-1 for exchange program participants, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for candidates pursuing permanent residence. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does Molex expect for Product Software Engineer candidates?
Molex Product Software Engineer roles generally require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field. Practical experience with embedded systems, C or C++ development, or software tools used in hardware product development is a strong differentiator. For visa purposes, a degree-to-role match matters both for your candidacy and for H-1B specialty occupation eligibility under USCIS guidelines.
How do I manage timing between my visa status and the Molex hiring process?
H-1B cap-subject petitions have an April 1 filing deadline with an October 1 start date, so you need a signed offer in hand before March to be included in that cycle. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your expiration date and factor in the 60-day grace period when evaluating start date flexibility. For TN status, processing at the port of entry is faster and doesn't require advance filing, which gives you more flexibility on start dates.
