Frame Your Architecture Experience Around Integration
Molex Technical Architect roles sit at the intersection of manufacturing operations and digital systems. When preparing your portfolio, emphasize enterprise integration work, supply chain platforms, and cross-functional system design rather than standalone software development.
Research Open Roles Before Contacting Recruiters
Molex posts Technical Architect openings across multiple business units. Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type before outreach, so you target positions already scoped for sponsorship rather than asking recruiters to greenlight it from scratch.
Confirm Your Visa Category Early in Screening
Molex sponsors across several categories, including H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT. On your first recruiter call, ask which visa type the role is scoped for. This saves weeks if your situation, for example active OPT versus needing cap-subject H-1B, doesn't match the position.
Align Your Degree Field to the Specialty Occupation Standard
USCIS requires that an H-1B specialty occupation have a direct relationship between your degree field and the role. For Technical Architect positions, a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering carries far less adjudication risk than a general business or unrelated STEM degree.
Build a Paper Trail for Architecture Deliverables
When Molex files your Labor Condition Application with DOL, the prevailing wage determination is tied to your specific job duties. Document architecture decisions you owned, system diagrams you authored, and cross-team projects you led, so your title reflects your actual scope of work.
Understand the OPT to H-1B Transition Window
If you're on F-1 OPT and targeting Molex, your employer must file your H-1B cap-subject petition by April 1 for an October 1 start. USCIS registration opens in March, so your offer letter and I-129 preparation need to begin months before that deadline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Architects?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Architect roles. The company has a consistent pattern of filing H-1B petitions for technical and architecture functions, including cap-subject petitions for new hires and cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter during your first screening call, since not every posted role is pre-approved for cap-subject sponsorship.
How do I apply for Technical Architect jobs at Molex?
You can browse open Technical Architect positions at Molex filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles scoped for international candidates. Apply directly through Molex's careers portal and tailor your resume to highlight enterprise system design, integration architecture, and any experience with manufacturing or supply chain technology platforms, which align with Molex's core business.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Technical Architect roles?
Molex sponsors Technical Architects across several visa categories, including H-1B, TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles), F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 visa for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and current status, so it's worth confirming the specific visa scope with the hiring team before you advance in the process.
What qualifications does Molex look for in Technical Architects?
Molex typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field for Technical Architect roles, paired with hands-on experience designing enterprise systems or integration frameworks. Familiarity with manufacturing technology environments, ERP platforms, or supply chain systems is a meaningful differentiator given the company's industry focus. Senior roles generally expect experience leading architecture decisions across cross-functional teams.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at Molex for a Technical Architect offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B cap-subject petitions, USCIS registration runs in March with an October 1 start date, so the process spans six or more months from offer to work authorization. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry in a single day for eligible Canadians and Mexicans. F-1 OPT candidates already authorized to work can start sooner, though Molex must file an H-1B petition well before OPT expires to maintain continuous authorization.
