About us
At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous. We build the foundation for agent engineering in the real world, helping developers move from prototypes to production-ready AI agents that teams can rely on. We began as widely adopted open-source tools and have grown to also offer a platform for building, evaluating, deploying, and operating agents at scale.
With $125M raised at Series B from IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, and Sapphire Ventures, we’re at a stage where we’re continuing to develop new products, growth is accelerating, and all team members have meaningful impact on what we build and how we work together. LangChain is a place where your contributions can shape how this technology shows up in the real world.
Today, LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, and Fleet are used by teams shipping real AI products across startups and large enterprises. Millions of developers trust LangChain to power AI teams at companies like Replit, Clay, Coinbase, Workday, Lyft, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, and 35% of the Fortune 500.
About the role
We’re hiring a Senior Technical Support Engineer to lead our customer support experience for highly technical users, from AI engineers to infrastructure architects. You’ll be on the front lines helping teams debug production LLM applications and agents, improve AI observability and evaluations, and unblock critical issues. You’ll also help define what world-class technical support looks like for modern AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the go-to escalation point for technical support inquiries—diagnosing issues across customer setup, LangChain products, and deployment issues.
- Work directly with engineering, operations, documentation, and product teams to resolve bugs, suggest patches, and advocate for customer needs.
- Partner with Deployed Engineering to support critical enterprise customers.
- Build and refine internal tooling, diagnostics, and runbooks for complex issue triage.
- Lead post-mortems for critical incidents and feed learnings back into product and documentation.
- Help refine KPIs for support health (MTTR, CSAT, bug recurrence) and drive continuous improvement.
- Improve documentation and knowledge articles to improve 1-to-many resources and provide proactive support.
- Mentor and coach other support engineers.
How to be successful in this role
- 6+ years in technical support, solutions engineering, or SRE roles in deeply technical B2B environments (e.g., observability, infrastructure, data platforms).
- Expert troubleshooting skills across APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud-native stacks.
- Programming experience with Python. Bonus if you have TypeScript experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
- Comfort working with logs, traces, metrics in Datadog, and 3rd-party integrations (e.g., OpenTelemetry, LLM providers).
- Experience supporting enterprise customers and collaborating with engineering on complex escalations.
- A bias for clarity and continuous improvement: you write succinct, helpful, and accurate responses and build a foundation for case deflection.
- High ownership — want to do what’s best for the customer and the company and are relentlessly results oriented.
Location: Remote
Compensation
- Annual salary range: $130,000 - $195,000 USD
Compensation Philosophy:
We offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, variable compensation for relevant roles, meaningful equity, benefits, and perks. Actual compensation and offerings will vary based on role, level, and location. Team members in the EU, UK, and APAC receive locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations.
Benefits
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, meals on in-office days in the US and more.

Frame your architecture experience around AI systems
LangChain hires architects to design production-grade LLM pipelines, not generic enterprise systems. Tailor your portfolio to show distributed architecture decisions for AI workloads, retrieval-augmented generation systems, or agent orchestration patterns before you apply.
Confirm E-3 eligibility before your interview
If you're Australian, the E-3 path avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Gather your degree credentials and have your specialty occupation documentation ready so you're not scrambling once LangChain extends an offer.
Target roles explicitly tied to platform or core engineering
LangChain's architect openings cluster around their core framework and LangSmith platform teams. Applying to roles scoped to those product areas signals genuine fit and increases your chances of reaching a hiring conversation where sponsorship gets discussed.
Push for H-1B filing before your grace period expires
If you're transitioning from another employer, you have a 60-day grace period after your last day. Confirm with LangChain's recruiting team early in the process that they can initiate the USCIS I-129 petition before that window closes.
Verify your prevailing wage level with DOL data early
H-1B and E-3 petitions require the employer to certify a wage meeting DOL prevailing wage levels for your role and location. Knowing your expected wage tier for a Technical Architect in San Francisco or New York lets you negotiate from an informed position.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
LangChain regularly posts Technical Architect openings, but not all are flagged for sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at LangChain that support H-1B or E-3, so you're applying to positions where the sponsorship pathway is already confirmed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LangChain sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Architects?
Yes, LangChain sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Architect roles. The company has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for technical hires in this function. If you're on OPT or transferring from another H-1B employer, raise sponsorship early in the recruiting process so LangChain's legal team can confirm the timeline aligns with your status.
How do I apply for Technical Architect jobs at LangChain?
Applications go through LangChain's careers page. Before applying, align your experience with their AI infrastructure and developer tooling focus, specifically around LLM orchestration, agent frameworks, or production ML systems. Migrate Mate also lists LangChain's open Technical Architect roles filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you can confirm eligibility before submitting your application.
Which visa types does LangChain commonly use for Technical Architect hires?
LangChain sponsors both H-1B and E-3 visas for Technical Architect positions. The H-1B is the primary path for most international applicants and requires USCIS lottery selection unless you qualify for a cap-exempt scenario. The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and bypasses the lottery, making it a faster and more predictable option for eligible candidates.
What qualifications does LangChain expect for Technical Architect roles?
LangChain's Technical Architect roles typically require deep experience designing scalable backend or distributed systems, with demonstrated exposure to LLM-based applications or AI tooling. Familiarity with Python, cloud infrastructure, and API design patterns is common across their job listings. For H-1B purposes, your degree should align directly with the technical scope of the role to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How do I plan my timeline if I need LangChain to sponsor my visa?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, so your offer needs to be in place before late March. E-3 petitions have no annual filing window and can be processed at a U.S. consulate in weeks. Either way, surface your visa situation in the first recruiter call so LangChain can sequence the offer and legal process accordingly.
