INTRODUCTION
Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level. Observe is hiring a Principal Technical Enablement & Learning Architect to design and scale a modern technical learning ecosystem that supports both internal teams and customers. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys building learning systems that accelerate understanding, raise technical standards, and enable consistent, high-quality outcomes—internally and externally. You’ll play a foundational role in shaping how Observe’s platform, observability best practices, and real-world operating models are taught, learned, and applied across the organization and, where appropriate, leveraged to improve customer education and self-sufficiency.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design Scalable Technical Learning Journeys
- Build structured, role-based learning paths for pre- and post-sales technical teams.
- Define onboarding, intermediate, and advanced learning milestones with clear outcomes.
- Establish mechanisms to assess and validate technical proficiency over time.
Build Hands-On Learning Experiences
- Design and maintain hands-on technical labs, demos, and learning environments.
- Create practical, real-world scenarios that reflect how customers deploy and use observability platforms.
- Ensure learning experiences are reliable, repeatable, and easy to consume globally.
Extend Internal Learning to Customer Education
- Identify internal enablement assets that can be adapted for customer-facing education, onboarding, and self-service learning.
- Partner with Product, Post-Sales, and Customer Education stakeholders to reuse and evolve learning content for customer consumption where appropriate.
- Help customers better understand observability concepts, best practices, and how to apply Observe effectively in real-world environments.
Enable Beyond the Product
- Develop learning content covering:
+ Observability concepts and patterns
+ Cloud platforms and distributed systems
+ Kubernetes, AWS, and modern application architectures
+ SRE, DevOps, and platform engineering practices
+ Competitive landscape and industry trends
- Ensure teams and customers understand not just how Observe works, but why it fits into modern operating models.
Partner Across the Organization
- Work closely with Sales Enablement, Product, Engineering, and Post-Sales leaders.
- Ensure new product capabilities, internal processes, and GTM changes are reflected in learning programs.
- Serve as a trusted technical authority on enablement and learning strategy.
Raise the Technical Bar at Scale
- Promote consistent technical practices and shared standards across teams.
- Enable faster ramp times, stronger technical confidence, and more effective customer engagements.
- Help internal teams and customers stay current as the observability space and cloud evolve.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
WHAT YOU BRING:
- 10+ years of hands-on technical experience in cloud, distributed systems, or observability-adjacent domains.
- Experience building technical enablement, training, or learning programs for technical audiences.
- Strong background in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), Kubernetes, and modern application architectures.
- Proven ability to design practical, hands-on learning experiences—not just slide-based training.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into structured, approachable learning.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
This role directly impacts how effectively Observe’s platform and best practices are understood and applied—by both internal teams and customers. By building a shared learning foundation, you’ll help:
- Accelerate internal ramp and consistency
- Improve customer understanding and self-sufficiency
- Scale expertise without scaling headcount
You’ll have the opportunity to build something foundational and reusable, influencing how Observe teaches, learns, and operates as the company grows.
COMPENSATION
The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:
- The estimated base salary range for this role is $144,000 - $189,000.
- Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.

- medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan
- flexible spending & health savings account

Align Your Credentials to Snowflake's Stack
Snowflake prioritizes architects with hands-on experience in cloud-native data platforms and multi-cloud environments. Before applying, document certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP alongside any Snowflake SnowPro credentials, since these signal role-specific fit to technical hiring managers.
Target Roles Tied to Strategic Verticals
Snowflake organizes much of its Technical Architect hiring around industry verticals like financial services, healthcare, and media. Filtering your search by vertical lets you tailor your application to the business problems that team actually solves, which matters in interviews.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Technical Architect openings at large cloud companies rotate quickly and often close before aggregators update. Search Migrate Mate to find current Snowflake Technical Architect roles filtered by visa sponsorship type so you're applying to positions that match your specific immigration status.
Understand How Snowflake Structures LCA Filings
Snowflake files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL tied to the specific work location, not just headquarters. If you're applying to a remote-eligible role, clarify the official work site early, since the LCA wage level must reflect the actual location where you'll primarily work.
Get Your OPT or TN Paperwork Ready Before the Offer
For F-1 OPT candidates, USCIS recommends filing EAD applications at least 90 days before your program end date. TN applicants should have their credential evaluation and offer letter confirming a qualifying specialty occupation in hand before Snowflake's offer letter stage.
Ask Explicitly About H-1B Timing During Negotiation
Snowflake's recruiting cycles can extend offers late in Q1, which creates tight windows for the April 1 H-1B cap filing. Ask your recruiter directly whether Snowflake submits registrations for cap-subject H-1B petitions and what documentation they need from you before the registration window opens.

Find Technical Architect at Snowflake JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Architects?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Architect roles. Technical Architects qualify as specialty occupation positions under USCIS guidelines because the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a related technical field. Snowflake participates in the annual H-1B cap registration process, so timing your application to align with the April 1 filing window is important if you're cap-subject.
How do I apply for Technical Architect jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal, where Technical Architect roles are listed by region and vertical. You can also browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces active Snowflake postings for international candidates. Tailor your application to the specific industry vertical the role serves, since Snowflake's architect teams are organized around customer segments, not just technology functions.
Which visa types does Snowflake commonly use for Technical Architect roles?
Snowflake sponsors several visa categories for Technical Architects, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles, and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. For longer-term pathways, Snowflake also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship and accommodates J-1 exchange visitors in certain programs. The right visa type depends on your nationality, degree, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect from Technical Architect candidates?
Snowflake's Technical Architect roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B eligibility. Beyond the degree, Snowflake looks for proven experience designing large-scale data architectures, familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and ideally direct Snowflake platform experience. Customer-facing consulting or pre-sales architecture experience is a strong differentiator for this role.
How do I navigate the H-1B timeline when targeting a Technical Architect role at Snowflake?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in early March each year, with selections announced shortly after. If you receive an offer from Snowflake before the window opens, your employment can begin October 1 at the earliest. For candidates already on OPT, Cap-Gap protection under USCIS rules extends your work authorization automatically if your OPT expires between April 1 and September 30 while your H-1B petition is pending.
