To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
Build the future of data with the Snowflake Data Catalog, Collaboration, and Marketplace team.
Snowflake Design is a world-class team of curious problem solvers on a mission to evolve and improve the way the world works with data. Great design is a strategic differentiator for Snowflake — but that differentiation doesn’t come automatically. We’re looking for talented, collaborative, and technical designers to join the team and drive the mission forward while doing career-defining work.
At Snowflake, Product Designers identify opportunities, shape the vision of our products, and ensure we’re delivering highly crafted, honed products that our customers love. As we continue to develop new products and push our existing products forward, we’re looking for Designers to redefine the future of working with data, from 0 -> 1. Product Designers at Snowflake work across data visualization, data catalog, marketplace experiences, collaboration, governance, and AI-powered workflows.
We are specifically looking for designers who can work natively with AI as a material of design: shaping agentic experiences, designing for trust and transparency, prototyping quickly in code and AI tooling, and partnering closely with engineering, PM and data science to bring intelligent product experiences to life.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Drive a significant, complex, and technical product area forward, shaping vision and owning execution
- Design AI-native product experiences that help customers work faster, make better decisions, and unlock more value from their data
- Delight customers by designing high-quality products that deliver meaningful value
- Champion user empathy in everything you do, evangelizing partners to do the same
- Raise the bar for how Snowflake designs intelligent, trustworthy, and usable AI experiences
YOUR ROLE:
- Identify and drive design opportunities by connecting the dots between user and business needs
- Collaborate and effectively influence your engineering and product partners to design and deliver excellent products
- Work end-to-end by identifying opportunities, establishing the vision, and working with engineering to deliver high quality, robust solutions
- Collaborate with the broader design team to ensure a seamless product experience
- Prototype quickly using AI tooling, coded prototypes, and lightweight experiments to get out of static mockups faster and learn earlier
- Define interaction patterns for AI experiences that account for ambiguity, confidence, feedback loops, explainability, and user trust
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate AI experiences using both qualitative and quantitative signals, including user feedback, behavior, and model performance
- Deliver detailed, robust design solutions, and work directly with engineering to ensure a high quality product reaches the hands of our customers
- Utilize and extend Snowflake’s Design System
- Develop strong rationale for design decisions, and articulate your perspective
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
- 8+ years as a product designer
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering and product partners
- Experience working with data and technical complexity
- Experience designing AI-powered or AI-native product experiences, such as copilots, assistants, agentic workflows, recommendations, or intelligent automation
- End-to-end ownership of meaningful features or surfaces
- Your end-user advocacy has shaped product experiences you can point to
- Shipped products that have simplified complex workflows
- You have iterated on shipped products based on customer usage and feedback
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in fast-paced environments with quick delivery and iteration cycles
- Ability to prototype either alone or with engineering partners to get out of mockups faster
- Interest in the data space and cutting edge technologies
- Experience with web technologies like HTML, Javascript/React, and CSS

Align your portfolio with Snowflake's platform architecture
Snowflake Product Engineers work across distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and SQL-layer features. Tailor your portfolio to show hands-on work with large-scale data pipelines or multi-cloud deployments before you apply.
Start OPT paperwork before your offer closes
F-1 students targeting Snowflake roles should initiate OPT authorization with their DSO well before a verbal offer becomes a start date. USCIS recommends filing at least 90 days before employment begins to avoid gaps.
Clarify H-1B sponsorship timing during your recruiter screen
Ask directly whether the role is cap-subject or cap-exempt and when the company files petitions. For cap-subject H-1B roles at Snowflake, USCIS registration opens in March, so your start date almost certainly falls in October.
Target teams where Snowflake files LCAs consistently
DOL Labor Condition Application disclosures show the job titles and work locations Snowflake certifies most often. Focus your applications on engineering functions that appear repeatedly, as those teams have established sponsorship workflows.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Product Engineer roles by visa type
Not every Snowflake posting explicitly states sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles filtered by the visa types Snowflake sponsors, so you're applying to positions where your status is already accounted for.
Confirm PERM sponsorship intent before accepting a senior offer
For Product Engineer roles at the senior level, ask your recruiter whether the company initiates PERM-based Green Card sponsorship and at what tenure. PERM timelines with DOL can exceed two years, so understanding the policy early shapes your long-term planning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineers?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Product Engineer roles. The company files cap-subject H-1B petitions through the annual USCIS lottery, with registration typically opening in March and approved status beginning October 1. If you're already on a valid H-1B with another employer, Snowflake can file an H-1B transfer, letting you start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I apply for Product Engineer jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal at snowflake.com/careers. Filter by the engineering or product engineering job family to find relevant openings. Before applying, review the role's listed qualifications closely since Snowflake Product Engineer postings often specify preferred experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or their core Snowflake platform. Tailoring your resume to those specifics meaningfully improves your chances of moving to a recruiter screen.
Which visa types does Snowflake commonly sponsor for Product Engineer roles?
Snowflake sponsors several visa categories for Product Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The right pathway depends on your nationality and current immigration status. F-1 students often enter through OPT before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship after the annual lottery.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect for Product Engineer roles?
Snowflake Product Engineer roles generally require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, and the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to H-1B petitions maps directly to that requirement. Beyond the degree, Snowflake typically looks for experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or C++, and familiarity with large-scale distributed systems. Senior roles often expect prior experience shipping platform-level or infrastructure features.
How do I find Product Engineer roles at Snowflake that match my visa status?
Snowflake's public job listings don't always specify which visa types a particular team will support. Migrate Mate lets you browse open Product Engineer positions at Snowflake filtered by the visa categories the company sponsors, so you can focus your applications on roles where your immigration status is a known fit rather than an open question to resolve late in the process.
